Cannala will no doubt try to take the skies from us, lets not let that happen. I would like the torpedo too but that will have limited impact this turn except defending the south.

Eh...so long as we agree to revisit the dolphin next turn (baring unexpectedness) I can begrudingly accept your opinion - despite being different than mine - has some merit.

The Independent Forenian

For the people, by the people.

Ministry of Riots reduces rioting hours!
In the latest afront to civil liberties in Forenia, the bureaucratic MoR has decreed that rioting on weekdays shall now be limited to between 10AM-6PM, and 7PM-9PM. The two-hour reduction is justified on account of a need to 'boost productivity' to 'support the war effort'. Once again, the war takes priority over the needs of the citizens. Many have criticised the Unification Party for being no better than the High Command they overthrew.
Continued on page 4.

Major losses at sea. Thousands reported KIA.
Despite the triumphant reveal of the UFS Archer, supposedly a first-class modern warship, journalists from the Independent report that our navy is losing almost every engagement. Cannalan ships continue to harass our merchant marine, and troop transports continue to be sunk en-route to both the southern and central fronts. The War Bulletin continues to report only on our victories in the north, ignoring the fact that our incompetent navy is costing us dearly everywhere else.
Continued on page 5.

Is the attack on Myark warranted?
Despite their departure being labelled a 'troop training exercise', and the fleet of ships accompanying them a 'security escort', we all know that we are in fact invading the neutral island of Myark. The Ministry of Ethics has released a report justifying the 'liberation', but again, we all know it comes down to greed. Not content with exploiting the resources of Forenia, the Unification Party seeks to 'unify' our neighbours in order to gain access to their resources. Perhaps Mutriqa to the north will be the next to fall to their budding imperialist tendencies?
The government claims that the British Parliament agreed to hand over the island. However, a closer examination reveals that the British thought they were handing over a fugitive named Myark, not the island. This sort of deceit is unbecoming of Forenia.
Continued on page 5.

Freedom of the press at risk?
Disturbing reports have reached the Independent suggesting that the UFG may be planning to impose restrictions on opposition publications such as our own. Although so far we have been allowed to publish the truth without consequence, if the current trend towards totalitarianism continues, that may not be the case for much longer. The Prime Minister himself has released a statement: "...baseless rumours, spread by Cannalan operatives. Heck, I read the Independent every day. It's always good for a laugh". Disturbing indeed, that he considers our paper 'laughable'.
Continued on pages 6-8.

I'm not sure whether to publish this in the embassy thread or not. On the one hand, it would put a stop to their claims of a lack of press freedom in Forenia. On the other, it is handing them propaganda pieces on a plate. What do you think?

On one hand, we're trying to sway the Americans to our side and this news paper will not help.

On the other, I can't really see Sensei punishing us for being in-character and I'd very much like to see it in the embassy thread.

Actually, yes, fantastic point.  Make it clear we allow papers to publish what they may, even if it's unfavorable to the government.  Those silly Americans have Justice Boners for the freedom of press.

Still think the torpedo, and taking away their naval advantage and therefor how they outnumber us, is our best bet right now.

Fixed the quotebox.

Sensei, does naval advantage play a part in Top Lane? Or is that all land/air based?

I will point out however that in the northern battleground they DON'T outnumber us. In the first turn it is stated that it is close enough to our ports that our transports can ferry troops safely.
The same applies for them, most likely.

And the northern battleground will be our sole focus this turn, so gaining even more fleet power now ( the carrier should be a big help already) would give us no help. I think even shore bombardment wasn't mentioned. Surely not this latest turn.

On the other hand, a plane helps us counter whatever they are preparing to break our air dominance and the HF 32 will stay in use for a long, looong time as our cheap plane anyway, so even if they design something else, it is a long term revision. Remember, in the latest combat report the main driver for our advance in the jungle was our air superiority, everything else more or less matched.

So what debate's been done?  Been working on the monster I call 'Holy My Arak' that was posted in the embassy.  Gripe at me here or in the Discord if I fucked anything up.

I will vote for the revises plane but we really do need to improve those torpedos soon.

Fixed the quote box, the torpedo votes weren't counted correctly.

Yeah, I totally agree.  Sensei has said outright that unless tech develops to make it relevant, navy doesn't have any sway in Top Lane.  Since we're just pressing top and the Isle of Myark, it'd be better to put some TLC into the HF-32 "Stinger" this turn than the torpedo.  The fighter will become Cheap soon, and since it will have more immediate effect in the area of combat we're actually fighting in this turn it gets top priority.

It also helps our carriers, albeit more indirectly.  The HF-32b can act as a part-time bomber, and since it'll be even better at dogfighting we can carry fewer of them on the carrier to the same effect (meaning more torpedo and dive bombers in the hanger).

I'm happy to see a 32 revision going through, but one of our design/revisions next turn needs to be anti-capital-ship. The other needs to be a transport, so we have the ore capacity to make those 32s cheap.
