Can we create ice with Create Water? If so, can we create ice in a specific shape with a craft check?

What counts as "cold" or "urban" for the purposes of a Ranger's Favored Terrain ability? Can they overlap?

Is the entirety of the campaign world going to have a climate of "cold", or will there be warm places as well?

Not to be rude, but I think you better switch to messaging Tawa personally.

And no, if I recall you cannot create ice with water, the terrain bonuses do not stack and do not cover both areas (cold is tundra, a town in the tundra is still urban). I played a ranger who lived in the setting in another game, and I've looked into it

- No
- No
- I intend for the campaign to cover a number of areas, including sailing south and west to lands unmarked on the maps in the OP, to reflect the real-life Vikings traveling as far away as Byzantium and Arabia.

Okay, so, here's a minor update about my character creation process so far.

I've already decided my class: Witch-Watcher Gingerbread Witch Hex Channeler Witch. While that sounds complicated, it's actually just a normal Witch with 3 archetypes (that are not mutually exclusive; I checked). Since I traded my first Hex away, I'm gonna use one of my feats to pick up Extra Hex (Slumber). I think I might pick up a scythe or something to capitalize on the free coup de graces I'll get; maybe I'll just leave that up to one of our front-liners (hint hint) instead, though.

After much book/web archive-diving, I've found a neat little combo that I'm quite proud of. Here it is:

Okay, so, to start off with, I'll be a Human with the Fey Magic alternate racial trait. Witches have way too many skill points and poor class skills as it is; I don't need more skill points. I'm gonna take Create Water, Purify Food and Water, and Enhanced Diplomacy as my Druid cantrips (since they're useful and not on the Witch spell list), although as you'll soon see, my choice doesn't really matter all that much. Urban is probably my most consistent/safest bet for the terrain type that I can use them in, so I'm going to pick that. Now, I also get a 1st level Druid spell. I spent some time looking through the list, and found that Recharge Innate Magic is a first-level Druid spell, so I chose that as my 1st level Druid spell. So now I can cast 3 Druid cantrips semi-at-will (I have to take the time to cast Recharge Innate Magic in-between uses of my SLAs) while in an Urban area. Whoop de do. However, when searching for good traits to take, I found the Minor Wishcraft trait. Unfortunately, it's for genie-kin only. Fortunately, we can get around that restriction with the Adopted trait. Also, it has a restriction that some Humanoid within 30 ft. has to request the desired spell effect aloud. Guess who happens to be a Humanoid that is always within 30 ft. of himself?

So, to make a long story short, I can cast any 0th-level spell semi-at-will (I have to take the time to cast Recharge Innate Magic in-between uses of my SLAs) while in an Urban area if I state the desired effect of the cantrip aloud (and remain a Humanoid). And all it cost me was 1 skill point per level and (effectively) one trait slot (Adopted gives you an extra trait slot, right?).

Holy hell, that reeks of Mary Sue and powergaming.

"I'm a witch with three different archetypes (two of which are to some degree morally opposed to one another) plus druidic powers in a low-magic setting and I can grant myself wishes because I was raised by genies!1!!"

Let the guy have fun with his character concept! Weird minmaxing strategies are great when you can invent appropriate justifications for them.

I mean, having access to druid powers is something you could have anyway by being, y'know, a druid. And there's lots of things in Norse mythology that grant wishes and shit like that, I'm fairly sure, you just need to dive into some amusing folklore to get at them. So if ATHATH has the chops to write up a backstory for all that, I'd be all for it.

So if I'm reading this right, this is what he gets:

- channel divinity like a cleric
- buff one ally as a standard action (ally picked at start of the day) to give them temp HP, AC, DR, temporary dispel magic and spell resistance (something tells me that he thinks he can pick himself but I think the concept alone forces it to be not yourself)
- Familiar becomes a construct as it is now made of gingerbread
- can make sweets that can buff/heal allies OR nauseate them
- makes candy that works like potions when using the cauldron spell
- can give up a racial spell-like ability for the use of a 0-level spell, which requires what someone (anyone) requests, and the effect must follow what the request is
- can cast Druid spells when in the favoured terrain

Other than the fact the racial trait that he wanted increases the RP by 2, it's pretty situational. However, I'm not ok with the fact that the concept behind gingerbread witch is "feast on babies"...

One other thing to note, I'm unsure if it works that way, but I don't think you can take Hex Channeler with Gingerbread witch, since Channeler can effect every level you gain a hex and the way how archetypes work, is you can't have them overlap.

(Also, you may want to look into having Gullveig as a patron)

I'm just saying, I personally don't think Tawa is going to allow this specific weird minmaxing strategy because, most importantly, it involves eating babies, gingerbread constructs, and magic candy. The latter two seem not to mesh very well with their ideas of magic being "a much more strange and uncontrollable thing that is inherently part of a person".

I'm not gonna actually eat babies, y'know. I'd need to be 10th level in order to get the Cook People Hex, which I can't do in P6. I'm mostly just going to use Child-Scent to find towns and stuff. I am, however, mildly amused that using the Child-Scent Hex to find and eat babies is what you guys first thought that I was going to use it for. I'm really just taking the archetype for the cooking/baking-themed stuff.

Hm... On second thought, I think I'm gonna drop the Witch-Watcher archetype. Its abilities (except for the Spell Resistance one, which will only block the spells of level-appropriate casters about 25% of the time anyway) don't really make up for the 3 spells and the cantrip that I'd lose. I mean, making the gish BBEG unable to properly buff himself and then stripping away his buffs is fun and all, but it's just not good enough to make the cut, so to speak.

Holy hell, that reeks of Mary Sue and powergaming.

"I'm a witch with three different archetypes (two of which are to some degree morally opposed to one another) plus druidic powers in a low-magic setting and I can grant myself wishes because I was raised by genies!1!!"
Oi, stacking archetypes doesn't make you a Mary Sue. I'm just swapping out some less-appropriate abilities for more appropriate/powerful ones (one can just refluff the archetypes anyway if they get in the way of creating an interesting character).

Geniekin, not genies. They're basically like Aasimaar, but with genies instead of celestials. I'm thinking about going with a gypsy/circus-esque background, with me being an apprentice to the caravan's cook. The caravan would probably make money off of the innate abilities of its members (being able to create fire at-will is a neat party/show-trick) or something. I'm still working it out in my head.

How does gingerbread constructs and magic candy not mesh well with magic being "a much more strange and uncontrollable thing that is inherently part of a person"?

Because I don't think gingerbread or candy for that matter was something that Norsemen were able to make, given the fact they barely got by with how little food they have, candy and such seems to be a luxury they cannot have...

Regardless, is up to Tawa. Personally, I think it's too much. I know some people play like this, and I've met a guy who did so and that's how he found his way to have fun. But remember, this is supposed to be a less epic adventure; most of the people here are going for flavour over power. Hell, I'm going two weapon fighter rather than the preferred bunny thumper or ranged ranger, which is what most people see a ranger as if they want to be usable
