North = Loyalists; Allied Duke, NAP. Somehow we knew this dude despite me browsing back and finding no relation. Guess we're forgetful!
East (Right) = Rebels; Yalanci also lives here and we should send him cake for his birthday one day, also be happy for light cavalry tribute
West (Left) = Bandits! That big warboss is over there after we captured a fortress and its surrounding lands! We sent immigrants this way too!
South (down) = Deathlands! We sorta looted nice pelts and things from dead things killed by deadlier things that are really deadly to us here. Also tiny babby dragon got kill'd for our nice armor. Beware of deadly things. Also the nearest batch of land has growing stuff in it--probably due to the ash and our dead kin ._. Hopefully it is liveable soon; note to check in the next 3 or so years.

Payment in kind, you say? What a novel concept. The peasants agree, and soon your treasury is overflowing with random crap, and your palace gardens full of livestock.

You send a messenger to Yalanci.

He returns a week later, with the good news that Yalanci has agreed to mobilise a large chunk of his army to support you, and will be leading them personally.
Anyway. Yalanci will have to catch up to you, as your troops are itching to move out. You start marching down the western road.

Hip-hip hooray! Queen Erin has started a military campaign! The capital will be left in able hands whilst you are gone.


You arrive at the western fort, where you resupply and rest, whilst you discuss with your commanders your next course of action. Eventually you decide to

A-March north-west, straight towards Ogru's forts.
B-March west, hoping to find a gap in the defences.
C-March south. Ogru can wait, you've got other targets in mind.

Lets start the siege and wait for Yalanchi to show up. Hopefully we get the option to let him keep the forts occupied while we march forward at that point.

So Ogru has a line of organization eh? Them forts are like bunker-hopping back in Starcraft days. Fortify and advance.

Perhaps we should start at one fort, build and fortify a siege camp, and then attract all his warriors as they build up to advance on us THEN retreat

...Also South-West is pretty much below Ogru but past our west-fortress. I think bullying the big one is pretty much going to consolidate these people under us. Nobody can live a bandit well unless there's something to sustain them.

It does not take long before your path deeper into the hills is blocked by a primitive but sturdy fort. Scouts report similar constructions in the valleys around you.
Ogru's banner, a red helmet on a white field, flies above the fort. You can see soldiers patrolling the ramparts.
Clearly, your next course of action is to

A-Assault the fort at once!
B-Prepare siege weapons, then assault the fort!
C-Lay siege to the fort, and wait for Yalanci to show up.
