In this weather, having a lot of folks try to attack a few may not help--visibility and otherwise can cause friendly fire incidents and they may overpower us at a 1:1 ratio of soldier/retainer to lizard.

At first, they draw out about thirty of them... but then, with lots of snarling and roaring, the rest of the camp moves toward the ruckus-making soldiers! Your men are confuzzled about how did the lizards spot their companions in the underbrush, but-

A) Salvos of arrows and axes and javelins and whatnot first to thin them out!
B) Send the heaviest and strongest men to meet with the brunt of the lizardmen cohort!
C) Half-encircle the rapidly approaching lizardmen and engulf them from all sides next!

I fear that our puny ranged weapons will do little against the scaly lizardmen. Similarly I fear even our strongest warriors won't hold up against their charge. Surrounding them, to make full use of our superior numbers, seems like the way to go.

They probably have like a +8 natural armor bonus though. Ever hear of Gustave the crocodile? Big fucker was apparently practically immune to small arms.
