The novice's hand trembled as she struck flint and steel, desperately trying to coax sparks to fall while trying to ignore the five Deathless and the one Venator Ascendent that waited for her to get the projector lit. She got a few out after the fourth try, the tiny bright specks falling to splash against the brass sphere of the projector. Light begat light. The sparks sank in, and the projector sphere began glowing brightly, filtering through the glass illuminator's slide to illuminate a picture on the far wall.

It wasn't a pretty picture. It was an Akka-Ten, one of the warrior nomads prized as mercenaries in the west. This one was male, and seemed old. The chitin plates that protected much of his face were covered in the marks of wear and battle, and the spiral horns that curved down his back reach almost the center of his spine. He wore the garb of a chieftain, with his clan symbol, a triangle pointed downward over a pair of concentric circles, burned into his right shoulder and into the center of his forehead. His armor was a flexible mixture of cast-off chitin and chain, and his collection of trophies was surprisingly varied. The Akka-Ten took trophies from any battle they considered worthy, and so it was not uncommon to see a great warrior of their people adorned with the relics of various campaigns.

This Chieftain, however, had at least a hundred such trophies looped into his armor. Teeth, horns, rings, crests, dried fingers- the mementos of countless victories. The image made details difficult, but there crests from at least three of the warden orders, and a scrap of folded fabric that appeared to be from an archmage's stole.

"This is Norash-Khan, of the Heart Seeker clan," the Venator said after giving the Deathless a moment to observe the image. "He entered our records fourty-seven years ago, during the war of brides. After being hired, he was one of the Akka-Ten most willing to enter into cooperation with the armies of Kent instead of striking out as a semi-directed group of raiders as most of the other Mercenary chiefs did. He was found to be a surprisingly able commander for one of the savage species, and his aid was instrumental in killing the usurper queen and reestablishing order. After the war, it was the intention of the Hunter's court to attempt to approach with a lesser seat on the council and use him to monitor the state of the Corruption within the Savage Lands."

The Deathless waited for a 'but'. It was a very specific need that called upon their services.

"Regrettably, he was betrayed. His clan bore a disproportionate share of the assaults against hard targets, and their casualties were severe. After the war, the Duke refused to yield the fertile lands he had promised. Without the strength to enforce their claim or the civilized status needed to claim the Right of adjudication, they faded back into the Savage Lands. An unfortunate but not uncommon outcome for a mercenary clan. Next slide, please." The venator motioned off-handedly to the novice, and she obediently removed the previous slide with a new piece of colored glass. "The last image was of Norash Khan when he entered our records- nearly fifty years ago. This image of him was captured last month."

The new image depicted Norash-Khan shrouded in a heavy Ashkot, one of the thick wraps needed to survive the harsh weather where the Savage Lands butted up against the old territories of Weywydden and the cursed storms contained within. The image was oblique, but Norash-Khan's face was unmistakable. The Akka-Ten lived no more than thirty or thirty-five years, and Norash-Khan had to have been in his late twenties at the time of the first image. He should have been long dead, and yet... he seemed younger. His chitin was brighter, his long horns had regained a pearly luster, and the wear and tear on his natural armor seemed to have been filled in, impossibly, by new material.

"As you can see, he has returned and our concerns that there is at least one Well currently open within the Savage Lands seem validated. A creature as strong of will and experience as he has the potential to carry a symbiote, and we cannot afford to hope that he is merely one of the possessed. Not when there is evidence of a larger plan at work. Observe." The venator motioned once more to the novice. This time, she didn't replace the slide, but instead placed a pair of brass bound lenses over the projector aperture.  A few slightly shaky twists later, and a magnified version of Norash-Khan's forehead slid into focus.

Where there had once been one clan symbol, now there were six. Three more on the left, and two more on the right.

"Norash-Khan has become a chief-of-chiefs. In 227, Asokhu-Khan united just three tribes at the age of twenty-eight and nearly removed the kingdom of Atanis from the map. The only reason he didn't was that his death from old age broke the alliance and sent tribes to fighting one another. Norash-Khan has six tribes at his disposal, more military experience than any Akka-Ten has ever managed to accumulate, and the power of a Corruption symbiote. The Hunter's Council offerss no aid to one kingdom or empire, but he will sweep over any land he chooses to invade, and he will bring a tide of corruption with him. For the good of all the civilized races, for the good of every creature that is still pure, he must be stopped now."

And there it was, the reason to call six Deathless into one spot. Assassinate a man who was simultaneously a general, a king, and a host to an ancient and immortal spirit of the Corruption. They'd just send out hunters for anything less.

"On the isle of Sim, unique opportunity has presented itself. The Lord of Sim has long employed the Salt-Runner clan of the Akka-Ten as privateers to defend his coast, and they represent the largest and most experienced naval force among the Akka-Ten tribes. We have information that Norash-Khan is going to the isle in order to recruit that Clan as his seventh, gaining the ability to deploy his forces anywhere along the basin. However, his journey to the isle will deprive him of the majority of his ground forces, leaving him more exposed than he has been in months, and potentially more exposed than he will ever be again. You will be sent by ship to the isle, to the port of Soros. There you will meet with Hunter Yumi. She has been assigned to track Norash on the isle, and will have information on how best to locate him." The venator motions to the novice for a final time, and she removes the lenses and replaces the previous slide with a new one depicting Hunter Yumi.

"Remember, Norash-Khan bears the corruption with him. Your goal is to save lives, but if you must kill a thousand innocents in order to eliminate him, it is the worthy trade. If he becomes aware of a Hunt against him, he may begin to corrupt the isle and turn it against you. In that eventuality, you have the full support of the Council in leading a purge against any afflicted regions. You are our blade, our arrow. You are neither among the living nor the dead, and the corruption cannot touch you. The other Hunters will help you find Norash-Khan, but you must be the ones to eliminate him."

"Go with a hunter's luck to your hand, and the blessing of God upon your back."

The scent of sea air is marred by smoke, and something far, far worse. No dockmaster comes to question your business and demand a pittance to moor the lines, no curious calls great you from the shore, even the gulls are absent. Yet it is not what is absent that is unsettling.

Men and women, their clothing ragged and their faces gaunt, wander aimlessly in the crudely beaten road. Their skin is afflicted, and more than one has been reduced to a bestial gait that somehow seems stronger and swifter than the staggering stride of their still walking fellows. Corpses are scattered here and there, and other townsfolk gather around them, pawing through their pockets and peering inside their mouths. They reek of the corruption. Their bodies move, but there is no mind left to think, no soul left to feel.

One of the hunched figures nearest to Grettir looks up suddenly, its bizarrely clear eyes focusing straight on him. It pauses for a moment and lets out an unearthly hiss that could not have possibly come from a human mouth.

Your contact is supposed to be waiting for you in the Northeast, in a hunter's retreat at the edge of the village. Yet that lies across the entirety of the town, a more hostile situation than previously advertised.

"Must. Kill."

A musical voice. An unnatural twitch. Even among the Deathless, a poor imitation of humanity.

The kitchenette mold free, you move on to the pantry. it's nasty in there. The bacon is grazing on the lettuce. The ham is having an illicit affair with the prime rib, The potatoes see all, know all. A rat in boxer shorts smoking a foul smelling cigar is banging on a cabinet shouting about rent money.

((So uh, is there moveset information on new things somewhere? I can only find the original five sets in the op, which is lacking things, well, pertinent to me, shields, claws, and bare hands, probably other things as well pertinent to other players, if any have a new weapon.))

Work on a potential forum game for my return to Bay12. Figure out parts that puzzled me before. Find more things to figure out that I can't. Work on another game instead of solving them. Get distracted and stop working. Remember it a week or two later. Remember I'm still on hiatus. Illogically, Be too ashamed to return yet. Repeat ad nauseam.

Finally have a game completely ready. Wait a week before posting it out of laziness.

Right. Knew I was forgetting something.

I'm having a little trouble figuring out who is who on the map.
Wings: Toege
Robe: Fierno
Twin Weapons: Co-Ra-Line
Axe'n'Shield: Grettin
Polearm and Plate: Horizon
Generic Sword Guy: Nullius

Going to try and see if I can alter the color filters so they're less shit. I got very frustrated with that map towards the end.

Alright, should be fixed. Color tokens should correctly afix themselves to the BOTTOM of a character when I update the map next.

Should.

Let me know if anything else is up.

For reference, map tokens come in three flavors-
Green: Allied
Yellow: Enemy, looking for threat
Red: Enemy, actively engaged with the players

PPE: Gah! AI descriptors! That's what I forgot! Nothing! I forgot nothing!

Do shields have a moveset?

Light attack is same as fists unless otherwise noted- just a strike. Heavy shields probably have some kind of running bash, but thankfully no one has one of those.

Grettir blinked slowly at the approaching 'men' seeming to consider them for an overlong moment before he started moving towards them, hefting his axe as he stomped forward.

Edit: This will cause you to bump into me TBF, but I don't really mind that so. I guess I'm doing it anyway! But fair warning.

Fierno's eyes lit up upon seeing the village, so many souls, so much sin. It was a clear that he had his work cut out for him.

But, he had a different job to do. The hunting lodge was his priority. The town's needs would have to wait.

Lets use the ancient naval art of training war parrots. No one will realize they have been boarded by space war parrots until it is to late!
You can fake being able to run on water. You can't fake looking cool when you break your foot on a door and hit your head on the floor.

I'm gonna boop you here and ask a reply in Mephansteras' board game thread. :P

But yay 6 players (~'u')~
If you want to boop me about a thread boop me in that thread, I won't have to go find it or wonder what you're talking about :v
I did that.
Twice in that thread. :-\

Err...how do I tell which one am I? ._.

Because if I'm that dude at 7, 15, I really need to review the battle/movement rules since reading others do it and doing it myself is a bit of a leap in my current standing. :P

You're at 12,4. Coordinates are always going to be (ROW,COL). I'll post coordinates in the Unit section.

Hum, would it be possible to add which player is controling which character to the unit section (or somewhere else) as well? Six players is sorta breaking my ability to keep track of who is who.
