I figure at some point, you're just gonna run outta fucks to give and just off yourself whenever you get hurt at all. It's not like there's any downsides to it. Hangover? Suicide will fix that. Stubbed your toe? Suicide. Headache? Suicide. Papercut? Suicide.

((Someone should spar with Overseer for a bit. Just enough to get rid of that combat penalty.))

"Perhaps we should set up camp here? I'll go see if there is any imminent threat."

Go investigate the nearest unexplored bit.

Previously, I'd been letting you use simple thread to try to stitch people up on a once-per-person basis.  Since I'm giving you "extra time" for your upcoming action, you could try thread on both of the weakest people.  Want to?

Alternately, John (ziizo) might want to try another unit of packaged vitality.  Or Overseer (FallacyofUrist) could.

((Someone should spar with Overseer for a bit. Just enough to get rid of that combat penalty.))

Ha, I wouldn't say no.  But it will fade on its own too.  I'm wondering if he kicked the corpse to prompt me to do that, actually . . .

"Perhaps we should set up camp here? I'll go see if there is any imminent threat."

Go investigate the nearest unexplored bit.

You'll camp overnight, and right now it's morning.  Lots more traveling to do.  For unexplored bits, that'd be northeast (if you combine everyone's knowledge together).

To wear as armor, or to store in your backpack and later sell as loot?  (I presume armor.)

Do it. Might as well try something to heal them, but really I have only been doing it on people who have been cut or stabbed because that is where it would make the most sense to do so.

Armor and possibly wastrel disguise. I don't actually expect it to work as disguise tough.

(I suggested we get the wheelbarrows over here, BTW, but if nobody picks up my lantern on the way back here, I'll definitely pick it up myself on the way back over that way. Whenever that is, sooner or later.)

(One also wonders if a bandage mde of that robe's material could be medically useful. Numbing the pain, maybe. But that's not a serious suggestion.)

If nobody else says anything, I think I shall take that chisel and hammer. Even if that's a result of a fail-by-succeeding in looking for important details, it's the best lead I have. And the cultist's hood, too, because I think that would be interesting. (Can it go over my present helmet, as well as function identically to it, w.r.t. head-penalty mitigation?)  Oooh, ninjaed in a parallel manner, by Ziizo, with a similat idea.

Once everyone else has looted (or left on the ground, to be claimed by others) I would like to drag/carry the corpse back to the small chamber, which likely is his (if not, it could be interesting). Arrange another burial cairn, if there is time and I'm not overwhelmed by various other factors.

Perhaps if nobody now lives here, I can have another go at understanding the place, perhaps sit in the dark (or semi-dark, lantern still outside) and ponder, see if I can get past the prior problems, in looking for what I'm looking for.

Meditate, clear my mind of the foul influence.

Yeah, but I've been bending this to "videogame logic" a lot.  Hit points are an inherently absurd idea; having healing work instantaneously is just as much.  So why not, I say!

Armor and possibly wastrel disguise. I don't actually expect it to work as disguise tough.

[Insert cackling here.]

I'm going to judge that you could wear them however you wish, but you'll only get the same effect that you currently do.  (Namely, avoiding a penalty.)  You weren't asking about a bonus or anything, but I've done the math and I find that ordinary helmets need to be bland like this or it imbalances things.  (And, if you didn't recall, wall tiger leather is the lowest armor-grade leather, just like iron is the lowest metal.)

Edited P.S.: And that's everyone!  I'll update when I can.

Previous -- Next

Okay, all set.  You know how the forum code says "color=red" and stuff?  I keep trying to write "color=Dustan" and the equivalent for all you exiles.  It'd be awesome if it worked that way.

Dustan struggles to find something that can be stitched up on the two most-injured party members.  Eventually you settle for a cut on Alyssa Alpine's head, from when that blast struck the helmet full-force, and a nasty spot on Dwain's chest where it looks like flesh was sucked straight out through other flesh.  Ew.

That handled, Alyssa heads off exploring, while John and Dwain work over the wastrel's remains.  John carefully takes and dons the damaged purple robe; somehow you experience no ill effects.  Is it still any good?  Is it . . . aware of you?

You start shuttling the other possessions along as Dwain picks up and moves the body itself.

In the northeast, beyond that weirdo hard-to-address mineral vein, Alyssa locates yet another mineral vein partially mined-out, this time hematite.  More importantly, there is a long and deep tunnel heading off to the east.

Left behind in the cleared-out space, Overseer seeks inner peace.  Breathe in, breathe out.  Remember yourself and then let it all go.  You can still feel it: the outside force, pushing in on you, just more weakly now.  And confusing though it still may be, you seem to be resolving your inner conflict.  It's all so non-specific; perhaps you can bring it more into clarity as you continue.

Meanwhile, it would seem that Dwain is trying the same thing, just in a different direction.  You have brought the corpse into the first chamber you saw, around the corner from where you left your light.  With his hood now upon your head, you set to burying the body in rubble, and seek your own inner peace.  It's . . . well, being away from battle sure helps.  The calm dark does too.  But it's all a muddle; perhaps you can bring it more into clarity as you continue.

Overseer (FallacyofUrist): I removed the line about "Amnesiac paralysis: -3 to next damage roll in combat" from your character sheet.  As with previous meditation, both of you may find that spending more time after a "Succeed weakly" might get you further results.  (If the group chooses to leave, I'm sure you'll "meditate while walking" again . . . )

. . . And today is a special day.  Displayed above is the 100th map!  Let me try that again: this is the 100th MAP!  According to the hosting site where I put all these things, anyway.

Thanks for being here!  I look forward to killing you.

((Okay, I meant to explore the passage north-east of the lantern, but this was helpful anyways.))

Explore the area north-east of that one lantern that is lying on the ground

((Oh. Missed that somehow.))

Group back with the others. Assist with carrying wheelbarrows to their destination.

You've done that!

So just a dead end.  As far as you know, the team has seen the entirety of this map.
