Titus steps out and examines the surroundings.

The ship appears to be in a crater or open pit, about fifteen feet deep. The bottom is coated with sand and gravel, and there doesn't seem to be any vegetation up top. Everything but the sky looks grey, as a dim orange sun hang nearly 45 degrees above the horizon, though the horizon right now is the lip of the crater. There's a crevice, a small opening along one side of the crater, presumably going off into a natural trench of some sort.

Avi pokes her head out and tries again.
The air outside is a bit chilly. At first you sense nothing, but then you -and everyone- hears it:

*chooom*

A deep, resounding sound through the ground and air. You can almost taste the color of worry and anxiety in the aura outside when the sound comes.

The Traveler steps outside, then licks his finger and holds it up in the air. "288 Kelvin. Air pressure a bit low, wind speed: very loud. 0.955 percent of Earth gravity. The surrounding universe is closer to heat death than to the big bang, and the planet is probably tidally locked. Also, looks like it's got oxygen."

"What on earth was that 'chooom' noise from?"

It has been determined that Trump is an average unladen swallow travelling northbound at his maximum sustainable speed of -3 Obama-cubits per second in the middle of a class 3 hurricane.

"Not the most pleasant of worlds... anyways, I have essence making to do."

No pulls on the ambient aether, shaping it into essences for later use in boosting/fueling his casting. Hopefully the aether here won't be borked like the amish dimension's was.

"Earthquake? Shield failure? A giant land whale? I actually dunno."

The aether seems more like what you're used to, though there are some curious notes floating in it. It's saturated with purple strands of worry, but beneath that, you sense the silence of an utterly barren land. And yet, there are hints of something a bit concerning: death, rage, fear. Little specks of those drifting about, like motes of dust in the light.

"Well it's not an earthquake, so...Don't you like, have really fancy sound analysis tech in the future or something?"

"Maybe, but I'd kind of need to have one ready while the sound is happening. Maybe ask one of the cyborgs?"

"Gimme a bit to scan."

Koi steps out and preforms a full spectrum scan. He also pokes Existence to see if it's properly solid now and not that weird gooey from before.

"Looks like the aether here is decent for spell casting. Maybe even better than normal for my affinity. Probably won't have to worry about that, then."

Essence making continues.

Avi is doing something similar to the mage, standing outside and fiddling with something only she can seem to see.

"Gimme a bit to scan."

Koi steps out and preforms a full spectrum scan. He also pokes Existence to see if it's properly solid now and not that weird gooey from before.

This place feels much more like the spacetime you're used to, though somehow stretched very thin, like a rubber band that's lost it's elasticity. Not necessarily more malleable but... looser. However, Espada notes that this is rather similar to the readings their expedition took after they had been propelled far, far into the future by their anomalous encounter.

The air seems tolerable enough. Around 50% nitrogen, 26% oxygen, 20% argon, 2% carbon dioxide, and 2% of other gasses. Curiously, most of that seems to be helium and neon, which would suggest advanced nuclear industry or operation of high-energy projection technology. You also note the absence of water vapor.

The sun is either small or far away, though if what the Traveler said is true, probably the former. Going by spectral analysis, it seems to have a rather high metalicity, and outputs mostly in infrared.

"As far as we can tell, the sound doesn't encode any information. From my available data, I'd guess either a large mass sliding into a sizable body of liquid, or a large energy shield discharging."

"Hey, that's almost a consensus. High five!" Espada's screen displays a check mark and they high-five the Traveler.

Titus climbs the wall of the crater and peeks over the edge.

At first, Titus sees nothing but dusty grey flatness all around, dotted by jagged boulders. It looks like there's a few others craters and crevices, joined together by craggy trenches. However, it looks like there might be the edge of a cliff off in the direction the trench from this crater runs, and a purple glow lights the horizon from that way.
