As long as someone is playing it's all good.

Whoa, hey, didn't expect this to pop up again.

Uh, if nobody else is available, I can do another year? I'm not trying to become god-king of Slaughterhelm or anything, but I have been looking for something to do, and maybe it would perk people up a little while giving them time to get their affairs in order for next turn?

Actually, you were the last one to take a turn. If it comes to that I'll take a turn, but I'm about to start a new job and I probably won't be able to do that in a reasonable amount of time.

Yeah, that's what I meant by "not trying to become god-king of Slaughterhelm". I'd definitely prefer someone else take it first. Just mentioning that I'm free.

Necro! Pretty new to succession games but hey, never a bad time to start! I'll pick up the save and go check it out. Expect a status report by Wednesday.

Okay, initial reactions.  I assume there is a good reason the adamantine deposit is flooded. Why is the mayor an acquaintance with an elk bird? Why do we have three goblin skeletons sitting in a random room? Why is there a miner stuck in a tree, UNDERGROUND? The tree is surrounded by water too. Also Mr elk bird mayor likes socks.

There was a very good reason. Specifically, I accidentally dug a ramp up into the lake. The cave-in that probably happened shortly after you paused should have sealed that breach, so it's now safe to open it up and let it drain.

All that is pretty tame compared to Deathgate and Mudermachines. Go ahead and play, I'd like to see this fort live again.

Journal of Uvash Ableltherleth, Chief Medical Dwarf of Koshzon

26th of Obsidian
One of the healers, Erib has started acting odd recently. He started mumbling to himself and has stopped coming to any of the meeting halls. The only time anybody has seen him is when he comes out for drinks.

28th of Obsidian
The last overseer stepped down today, and seemingly this triggered some reaction from Erib as he emerged from his seclusion and started calling himself "Tundra" or some such.

1st of Granite
The last of the orders from the last overseer were carried out, with a small price to pay.

The voidgod approached "Tundra" today, soon after he came and declared himself the overseer.
2nd of Granite
Solons last report also said that one of the builders was stuck in a tree.

3rd of Granite
The miner, Cog has finally been rescued!

(A quick little update I pumped out. I'll try to get a longer one out soon.)

I'm here.
If this is the next deathgate, I'm watching.
But not getting dorfed.
Not... Yet.

I told my friend the quote "Oh and by the way, if Terry kills the deathgod, We'll have plenty of volunteers to pick up the job."
It's not the exact quote, but it was good enough for him to be laughing for the next ten minutes.
