Neo, I highly doubt even Microsoft has anywhere near 400 emploees dedicated to PR.  Maybe if you count customer service reps as PR.

If all you want is troll posts at the top of every PS4 news article, you're looking at like a dozen people tops.  Potentially just one guy really good at writing bots.  Those huge marketing budgets aren't primarily for employees, they're for ad space and contractors to make the ads.

Anyway, we've already established the trolling was just one prong of the electronic efforts.  It also included hacking the twitter accounts of half the DoD, hacking the democratic party, and using the help of a US social media specialist to send highly targeted political ads and messages to important people like journalists.  The question was never Russian interference, its always been Trump collusion.

@weird, could you show me the email where Hillary admitted to election tampering in other countries?  Cause I looked at some of the emails on wikileaks and I don't remember that.

Trump broke his silence on the scandal regarding his son, calling him a "high-quality person". One wonders how long it took him and his team to think up that positively exonerating line.

I remember something about Hillary making a joke about it or mentioning something, but it was shown to be debunked and/or taken WAY out of context, like so many claims that came out of wikileaks. The difference is that this one is straight from the source and in full.

Also, weren't all (or most) of the emails on wikileaks actually Podesta's (and some other staffers) emails?

Also, while I know Pence came onboard in June/July, he didn't become more involved (that I know of) in the campaign management until after the election, it still begs the question of what did HE know, because I'd want to know whether Pence knew anything and/or willfully ignored it.

Because really, we don't want to remove Trump and leave Pence in place, like the "should you kill Hitler since you have a time machine?" scenario where you end up putting in place someone more competent who manages to avoid mistakes Hitler made, right now having Trump as a big lead weight around the neck of Congress and such is preferable to the alternative where someone who isn't a shiteating moron ends up in place and ready to actually get down to the business of really fucking over all the poor people forever.

"High quality person" isn't even...  I mean "He is very much a person"? Or there's a missing word and he's a high quality what?(-type of person...) Suggestions on the back of a beermat, please.

I don't like to look down on those who are inarticulate (though I will heavily frown upon misapostrophisation, and attempt to re-educate accordingly), and there's a cultural divide as well, but it is more and more clear that Trump has just bungled his way through the English language (and possibly also the American vernacular) in a kind of anti-Boris way.  The above is not actually a prime example, but it is a pointer in that direction.

I think you may be drastically underestimating just how many people MS employs, there, heh. They've got around 120k employed worldwide. Less than 400 would be under about a third of a percent (approx <0.33%) of their workforce. They might have less folks specifically hired as PR specialists than that (though I wouldn't bet on it), but if there's not significantly more than 400 people working PR in general for microsoft I would be very, very surprised. I'd only avoiding saying they definitely have more because I can't find something like an employment portfolio for 'em :P

This is a high quality *Person*, it is studded with gold. On the item is an image of Trump and CNN in human skin. The Trump is punching the CNN. The artwork relates to the rise of the Trump during the great Memewar of 2017.

You support transparency. Cool.
So when can we expect to see those tax returns?

Saying that he is a high quality person is a pretty strange way of saying that, almost in a legal pretzel shape way. And praising the transparency is the maximal height of hypocrisy coming from Trump :p

? "a high quality person" is a pretty normal (if kind of lack-luster) praise of someone. The "high quality what" is, uh, person? The what is "person."

Is that really weird to you?

Like "really good person."

i seriously am having trouble getting the disconnect here, how is this a weird thing to say?

There's always Ivanka. And yet only if she weren't his daughter would he date her. Reassuringly or otherwise.

ETA: A "really good person" can and will be interpreted as a person with goodness (on the saint/sinner spectrum), in that context.

You have to look to the world of art (painting, sculpture, characterisation in a novel or script) to find that something intended to be a person has a high quality of personhood, i.e. is a good (representation of a) person. Doesn't make much sense at all in the context of an acknowledged actual-person qualifying even more so as such.

Given this, it starts to male sense only once you start to work on a basis (for example) that he's a shape-shifting lizard, pretending to be a person (human) and actually making a high-quality bash of it.  (Not that shape-shifting lizards aren't people too, technically, but some prejudices are hard to unlearn! It's just symptomatic of my generation and I'm afraid you'll have to tolerate my little peccadillos...)

You have to bend "quality" a lot to make it the best choice of words. It's even beyond a "regular coke" being a normal-sized one (either the medium/median one, or the smallest in the trinity of sizes otherwise identified as "large" and "extra large", which is a separate complaint), rather than one which is somehow rendered periodical (or, perhaps through the inclusions of laxatives or diuretics, makes oneself more frequently periodical in a biological manner), which is an exercise best left to the reader.

Maybe it sounds wierd coming from Trump as it sounds rather... un-trumpian.
