Name: Arun "Aaron Ram" Ramnarine
Appearance: An Indian man in his thirties, Arun looks rather stereotypical to the Western eye with his dark skin, big nose, thick black hair and full beard. His torso is quite large compared to his head and limbs. He usually wears a yellow T-shirt two sizes too large for him, cargo pants, name brand sneakers and a long and wide woolen scarf to complete the ensemble.

Background: Arun Ramnarine was the third child of a middle class family in Mumbai. From a very young age, he had always been very interested in the written word. At the age of 12, he decided he wanted to write his own books. His father didn't like this much as he'd rather have had him become a doctor, for the family's wealth had slowly been dwindling over the years. At the age of 15, Arun was getting better and better at writing his texts. Comedy or horror, romance or fantasy, anything flew from his pen with ease. His father had none of that. He arranged a profitable marriage between Arun and the daughter of business magnate. The dowry alone would have secured a comfortable life for a few years. But Arun didn't love her. He loved writing. Behind his family's back, he applied for scholarship to a big-name high school and university in London. He got it. He left for England without a word and began his higher-level studies as Aaron Ram, a name given to him by his peers who had trouble pronouncing his real one. Some years later, this was indeed the pseudonym under which he published his first book, a tragicomedic satire of tradition, freedom and love. It sold surprisingly well, beginning a long line of international successes, securing Arun's path to wealth. But now, a decade later, he has been running low on inspiration. The quality of his books has been steadily going down, and with it, the sales. His latest manuscript he burned before it even reached the publisher's desk. He needs something new and interesting, and he needs it now.

Arun is very humble and polite, to the point of self-deprecation. He has a rather dry sense of humor, and uses it to cope when he is feeling uncomfortable. In spite of his roots, his accent has mostly died down from exposure to Londoners, though a hint of it is still noticeable. His interests beyond writing include the study of cultures around the world and music, particularly that of his birth country. He hasn't been in contact with his family for years, but he has valuable contacts in the writing industry and a few non-work related friends he likes to sometimes have a round of beers with. He isn't in terrible shape, but doesn't have much interest in particularly physical pursuits.

Stigma: Anagrams. An enemy isn't very dangerous if its ASSAULT RIFLE suddenly turns into A LITERAL FUSS. And is that a SCARY MONSTER? No, it's a MARTYR'S SCONE. Yum!

I was wondering..Outside of combat, how does mania/delerium/Stigma work? Seems pretty important to my character, since trying to make an animal strong enough to fight for me would be difficult in the middle of combat. It could easily take multiple turns, over which the animal could easily be killed before it's sufficiently strong.

That is where our necromancer takes over, of course.

Delirium goes to zero out of combat, according to the limited rules we are presented with. You start combat at zero, which likely means you can't really power up outside of it. Which is good, since Mania is kinda a bad thing to have, though it doesn't say weather or not it goes down as well.

How would our necromancer be able to function, then? If she can only use it inside of battle, that means the bodies wouldn't be animated between battles. Would we just have to lug them around? Plus, she would have  to spend a turn or two reanimating them at the start of each battle, which, once again, gives an opportunity for enemies to destroy them before they're functioning. Besides, in game, what would prevent us from using our Stigma? No real reason is given in the OP.

I'm not even sure the bad guys *can* do any damage, to the servants our otherwise. Their main goal seems to be increasing mania. It seems that powers can activate outside of combat, but are generally less powerful with less mania. At worst, it becomes a moot point (they spend one turn making something, the bad guys spend one turn breaking it. Repeat until their mania is high enough to makes something stronk enough not to die).

Name: Jonathan Alex Murdway (Hell Drake)
Appearance: He is Tall, White skinned, with Blue eyes and Hair dyed Red and Green. He is wearing Jeans, a black shoe on his left foot and a Tank top. he has a Black dragon's Skeleton tatoo around his right arm.
Background:
-Jon is 21.
-Jonathan was born to a... Less then friendly family, from a young age his Father abused him and his brother, his mother died when he was born and his fathers girl friends generally couldn't care less about him.
-Several years ago his father Beat Jonathan's brother to death and Jon snapped, Before he know what had happened his father had taken a knife to the neck and quickly bled out as Jon fled.
-Jon Joined a gang, and quickly rose to be one of the leader's Lieutenants with his unyielding brutality in what ever he did, What the Gang didn't know was that Jon wasn't even aware that he was doing so.
-Jon's been arrested Several times, and has been Proven to have Multiple Personalty Disorder.
-"Hell Drake" is Jon's Second personalty, a Brutal Killer with Sadistic tendencys.  It has but one wish: to watch everything burn.
-Jon himself is a Wimp when it comes to fighting who yields to "Hell Drake" when he is angry or thinks he's in danger.
Stigma: Duality, Chaos and Order: Jon, do to not being one person, has a Single Stigma witch can be used to Either Break the laws of physics one by one to preform impossible feats or Strengthen those same bonds against impossible foes.

Regarding Gene, your Blessing is going to ensure you'll have decent animals at hand for combat, and also it shouldn't take too long to just turn then into murder beasts. Like with enough mania it should only require one turn and it's not like it's your only way to fight.

As for Iris, her reanimations would be able to act the turn they are given life and she would be able to do stuff on that turn in addition to just using her stigma. Plus since it's been described to cover dead cells even, just causing necrosis or somesuch would allow her to harm people with their own flesh.
