Sorry, my laptop bought the farm and I've been waiting for ages to get my desktop together (so many complications ;.;). Am I still in, or...? This seems promising but given my slowness int he first update + my later disappearance, I would understand if you'd rather Guni takes the slot.

Yes you're still in, now post destination vote ;v

I actually do agree with C. We're the Intrepid, not the Cowardly! Besides, if the warp point is unstable, that means less people have stolen our loot before we could get there. This is obviously the best option. I'm sure whatever eldritch horrors might be waiting on the other side will be full friendly.

Edited to C :3
LET'S DO THIS.

For despite lacking a Marine personnel, I do believe in the capabilities of our crew! (And your note about loot persuaded me)

Twinwolf's vote wouldn't actually change things so let's go with it!

The crew of Intrepid decide to fly through the unstable jump point and trust in their Navigator's skills!

Quote
4*

The travel through the unstable gravitational corridor is shaky and sparks fly from the consoles and steam hisses from the pipes!

Quote
3

A console blows up in face of Twinwolf! Twinwolf is Wounded! Furthermore, the Heavy Particle Reactor is Damaged!

The massive red giant dominates the viewscreen, shining a brilliant red light.

The planetary layout is comprised of two gas giants and a planet at the outskirts of the system. It has thick gaseous atmosphere...

Then the scanner processes the data and alarms sound from the main computer core. The massive red giant in the centre of the star system is undergoing core collapse! A supernova is immiment!

What the crew of The Intrepid shall do now?? (24 hours for posts!)

Now that's my kind of adventure!

See if we can get to a distance where the supernova doesn't hit us with much in the way of radiation and such. If yes, enjoy the best sunset of my life. If not, just go for another jump or, if that's not possible, get the other buggers to put up all the possible shielding measures this scow can manage.

Noticing the apparent danger, Tiri does what she does best.

Commence research on the system and supernova!

Probably we could gain something partial in studying here.

Swordstar inspires me to nudge plans .-.;
> Flame goes for quick repairs
> Harry plots a jump or at least puts us in a maneuver to
> I could commit to research or plot the exact time of supernova to work with Harry [also take pics, because this is our pioneer journey and Earth would LOVE that]
> Cript can act as auxiliary to any of us?
> Twinwolf heals herself. o_o That does work if you're a physician! :P

I still think the unstable jump point has a point of notice--we may have just jumped into this sytem rather at a bad time :P (Note that it only gave -1, but the succeeding roll seems to come from the normal 'determine system')

Tiruin gains teraquads of scientific data on the last moments of the supergiant, seen and observed from distance never before achieved by humankind.

Harry Baldman then finds out that the jumpdrive is not operational and therefore they cannot escape the supernova at the moment, but the chemfuel thrusters can be used to putter around the system.

Oooh, minor actions :D

Research up trajectory points to help us and our engines out, or to lessen the danger from an exploding star.
Actually if there's enough time in this minor action, DO make a nearest-exact approximate for that star and the projected effects/'safe zones'

Aha! Plot a clever escape maneuver, with gravity assists and hookers!

Eliza is going to do whatever she can to get the jumpdrive running again.

"Harry! How long can you keep us in one piece?"

"This seems entirely predictable."

Cripto mans the communications computer, broadcasting a distress signal for any that might be able to hear it.

Of course, Twin is neither man nor woman but an unholy eldritch abomination like every other Bay12er. The difference is they hide it better.

+1, to my Haspen-note back there too.

We can possibly put Cript on other duties since...a supernova from a RED GIANT, given the notice of our tech, may not really help with distress signals.

...Unless we have 'hyperspace jump relay services' or something. Like a hyperjump tug. :P Which REALLY may be useful now, or to salvage as an extra for our ship! (Maybe a one-shot emergency thing or stuff)
