Jace, who is sitting in the front row, is visibly taking a moment to think here, his maille rattling as he brings his hand to his chin. He does glance up at the board, then. "...ah. Teacher, may I be excused to go look for another student who is not currently present?"
Alison happens to be near Alice, behind her.
"Alright, I think I've got a decent grasp on this. So, the way I see it, magic is basically a way to draw upon our connections wih our souls and all to bring forth spells, which are speciic expressions of that connection, to do something, some spells more tangible than others."

Jace stands up and leaves the room, immediately heading for his dorm room.

Tiana sees Jace walking out of the room, and double-takes when she sees that Jason's name hasn't been crossed off.
"Hmm...."

"That is correct. It's a bit more complex than that, but you've got the gist of it."

Well, his scrawl's fitting for an aspiring doctor at least.
Supernatural effects.
Nature of the effect seems to be dependent on the person.
Dependent on the person? Too early to tell. Correlation still too tenuous.

Spontaneous creation/control of (possibly anomalous) substances/objects - Tiana, Alice, Aurora, Isaac
Alteration of state(?) - Hans(?)
Binding/consolidating effects - Alison, Myself

Maybe hierarchical relation? State alteration at top?
Creation yields no noticeable air displacement. Maybe all magic works by transmuting matter? Creation turns air into something else, enchantment adds anomalous properties, alteration replaces?
Testing: check for air displacement during creation of large objects. Inquire about use of magic on a vacuum.
