Bio: Aindriu was born to a middle-class family in the town of Laragh. The youngest son of four (Aran the eldest is 8 years older, Finbar is 5 years older, and Ryan is 1 year older), Andriu grew up tough from always roughhousing with his older brothers and their friends. His childhood was relatively uneventful otherwise; though he was always a physical person, he got along well with most of the other children and although rivalries came and went he rarely had any real enemies. At the age of 14, he joined the militia and started learning how to fight with a sword. When it was discovered he had some magic potential - a very valuable trait in the largely mundane Laragh - he was also trained in how to use staves to support his allies.

This state of affairs - training, patrolling, arresting the odd criminal, very occasionally fending off attacks - continued for four years, until the day The Valley Jackals rolled into town. An amazonian bandit gang of pegasus riders, they attacked in the early morning, using the bright sun to hide their approach until it was too late. The scattered militia was too busy putting out fires from the initial assault to mount a real defense, and within a few hours the Jackals had subdued the militia and was looting town as they pleased. Aindriu wasn't one to back down from a fight and managed to steal a sword back from an inattentive guard. He managed to wound three and knock out a fourth before he was overwhelmed, and he hadn't even gotten a chance to free his fellows.

When he awoke later, he and two other guards (Connor Rowe and Aislinn Mac Niven, both rookies) were captive in the mountain retreat of the Jackals. For the next three years, he and Connor were forced into servitude while Aislinn was eventually recruited into the ranks of the Jackals. It was during these years Aindriu got close to Trina Moxley, one of the 'grunts' of the group. When Trina got pregnant, she and Aindriu decided it was time to get out of there, and a month later they enacted a rather daring escape that involved stealing two pegasi and flying through a thick forest of giant trees to lose their pursuers.

The pair lived well for awhile off of the loot they made off with when they escaped, and eventually had two daughters (Maureen, now age 3, and Isabelle, now age 2). When the money started to get low, Aindriu bought a sturdy set of armor, a sword, and a staff, and set off on his pegasus Beannacht to earn money for his family. First he worked as a bodyguard, then a cartographer, then a freelance trader... but he's tired of small time work, and recently he saw an advertisement for an extermination mission that might be lucrative indeed...

Arachne the Heavenly Maiden is part of the Cult of the Sanguine Spider, a religion that believes the end of the world is nigh. After many and varied signs and portents, the apocalypse will happen, and the world will be consumed by an enormous spider. All will perish - for the good to be reborn into paradise, while sinners are forever digested in the belly of the arachnid.

Her parents were Sanguine, and she was raised as part of the faith with her three brothers. As many Spiderites have done, she has travelled out to spread the faith. She saw a flyer to work with a noblewoman - and what a good opportunity it was, surely!
She's not very confident, is a little naive, and quite easily flustered, but she has a good heart, and a solid belief in Doing The Right Thing. Her precise understanding of the Right Thing might be a little more... harsh... than most people, due to her religion, but she is, at heart, a good person.

Bio: A mage from the nearby village of Seagramm, Jasmine has a bit of a reputation in her tiny community. "Eccentric" is the most polite way to put it, while many would say "insane", "moon-touched", or even "dangerous". Jasmine's primary goal in life is the creation of new things, and while she (like the vast majority of a pre-industrial world) has never heard of the scientific method, she is quite fond of experimentation. These experiments often end in failure and sometimes minor explosions, but she takes it all with good humor.

Tinkering with junk and exotic materials doesn't pay the bills though, and so she earns her living at the local smithy, turning lumps of iron and bronze into horseshoes and farming implements. It's not the glamorous sort of armorsmithing or metalcrafting that she would prefer, but there isn't much call for such things in Seagramm and she can not afford to live somewhere more densely populated (and besides, the town guards would not look favorably on any sort of accidental detonations) where bracelets and battle helms are more desirable.

Jasmine doesn't have much in the way of family; her mother and father (they live in the next village over) and a younger brother, who left a few years back to seek his fortune as a mercenary and never returned. While she has received some attention from men (and even taken a couple of lovers over the years), they have never stayed long, leaving Jasmine alone with her work.

One day, while in the big city trying to source some silver for one of her projects, Jasmine stumbled across a flyer offering some sort of mission for some sort of lady, details to follow. While the mage at first ignored the flyer, it stayed at the back of her mind. Business was slow in Seagramm, and Jasmine's favorite Fire tome had run out of charge two weeks previously. If she were honest to herself, she couldn't afford any silver at all, let alone a new tome, unless she earned herself a nice stack of gold coins. Grabbing her backup Wind tome, Jasmine signed on as a mage in the service of Lady What's-Her-Name.
