Eventually, it clicks into place and locks, the man nods again.


Turning the screen on, it shows a walled human village surrounded by fields of farm, a clear sign of civilization. There are several more houses outside of the walled area.

"This is your objective. Some rather.. helpful natives have told us of a rumor that there may be something sinister living near this village, A vampire, they said. Disturbed dead. We want you to go and check on this rumor and confirm it or deny it and attempt to turn a profit. Akras is interested in hiring a Vampire for mutual benefits. If they do exist and refuse the offer, well. Your squad will be given a white phosphorous grenade each. I'm sure I don't have to remind you to be extra careful with them."

Taking a short pause to see that everyone understood, he continues. "At of this moment, we are unsure of where the rumored creature, entity or being is, so you'll have to ask around. And while you're there? Akras wants that village. Preferably intact, but if they resist, then you may use as much force as deemed necessary to pacify them to submission. Intel is the following, Recon drones have detected at least three Kelpies in the walled area, fifteen to twenty professional-looking guards armed with spears, swords, crossbows and chainmail with possibly up to fifty militias. The area is possibly owned by a Knight, so expect resistance."

Another moment of pause. "In summary, head to the village, claim it for us, seek out the rumored beast, creature or entity, confirm said rumor, if rumor proves to be true, attempt to enlist them. If not possible, burn everything. The village is quite a distance away, your team leader will be assigned a satellite communications upgrade for his helmet. You will be heading there in a VTOL, drop a distance away or right ontop of them, we don't care. And once you're ready to come back, just give us a call. If there's no call, we'll go check up on you again in three days, if you are not there where we left you on the third day, you'll be considered dead and your collars will self-destruct. Have your squad leader give reports constantly to keep that from happening."

The man looks around the table again at each of you before he opens his suitcase and present the contents to you all, shining.. silver canister with a very obvious fire warning all over it. One for each of you, and a helmet add-on for Sat comm. "Questions?"

"Any intel on the suspected Vampire beyond being a Vampire? As in, abilities, weaknesses and such? From what I've seen your dimension's Vampires might be different so it would be best to have definition to avoid confusion. In addition, what's the protocol in the event a squad member is turned?"

Then he looks to Vhan "They do not appear to have known of us yet, words travel slowly in your world compared to ours. They may or may not be hostile, it doesn't matter. You'll make them submit, and if they don't, then burn everything, round everyone up and call for a transport to go pick them all up for processing. Akras could always use more workers."

Danh opens his mouth, about to ask Vhan's question. Looking at the kobold briefly, he closes his mouth, and looks back at the corner of the TV.
Kobold seemed to already know one of the more important questions. Then again, he was a gate vet.
