Into the sewers, ho!
-1. That'll just make us look more suspicious.

We can try to escape later if it looks like there is no chance of the government believing our story.

So that means we have fifteen to twenty seconds before they arrive at the conclusion that we're in cahoots and execute you for treason.

If they think that we committed treason.

You Briefly think about going to the sewers. But, no, you don't think you have enough time to find a sewer hole (Historical Fact: They used to be covered by heavy metal grates.) in the alley. The footsteps grow closer and closer. You decide to just surrender. Hands raised, you await capture by the Police. They round the corner, guns drawn. Seeing the upheld hands, they know you're surrendering and, besides cuffing you to a suspiciously loose pipe, don't pay you much mind. You start to spout off about the guy you followed here. They listen intently and decide to send you to prison for further questioning.

Await questioning, survey our immediate physical surroundings in the prison.

Waiting for the groundcar you hear the distant booming of the A.R.C.H.E.R.S. That guy is almost certainly dead now. The car shows up, wind up spring stuck mid turn. It has around three centimeters of room for prisoners. You are loaded into it without much fuss and are soon on your way to prison. The back compartment has no windows, so you don't know how long you've been driving. They pull you out of the car and into the deepening shadows of a huge wall backdropped by the setting sun. You seem to be across the whole of town. And there you see it.

The Holiday Inn Federal Prison sits on the Check-in desk overlooking the town. It's a whole meter off the ground and must be reached by elevator. The prison is made from an old leather boot. The guards have machine gun nests stationed all around it. The prisoners are treated in 'varying degrees of fairness based on their crimes'. That bit of geography aside, you are led in and through a maze of twists and turns. finally, they open a door and you enter an interrogation room, complete with a directional lamp for blinding the suspect.

There's a man in a black trenchcoat waiting there. "Why'd you do it?" He demands.

To which you reply, "What are you talking about? What'd I do?" The other guards exchange a few words with the interrogator.

"Oh. My bad. Wrong guy." He makes like a tree and leaves. He is replaced by an older lady in a nice suit and tie, carrying what you can only assume to be a file containing your personal information. "Okay. Mister..." She looks at your file. "Gerard. Can you tell me where you were this morning when the bomb went off?"

Explain what happened to her. Suggest that the strange man probably wanted to trick me into becoming a diversion by running away. Luckily, I stayed loyal to the motherland and the fuhrer (may God(s?) bless his soul(?)).

You tell her everything. She doesn't interrupt or ask questions about anything. When you finish with your theory on you being a diversion, she calmly gets up and walks to the wall. She inhales deeply and says, "This sounds like, Jordy Johansen." She hands you the file of the man. "He's a particularly nasty revolutionary from across the street. Good with making bombs, sneaking into and out of places, and overall causing mass chaos.

"Now, we have to keep you here for at least one day. Just to be sure."
You are escorted to the top of the shoe, where you are uncuffed and put into a cell. It's a holding cell meant for prisoners waiting for sorting. "Gods bless the führer." You whisper to yourself.

It's gonna be a long night.

The prison where you are staying for the night is, relatively, escape proof. The cell you are placed in is a comfortable 6cm by 6cm by 2 cm room made from leather and plastic. You're above the prisoner blocks of the first shoe. The other shoe is on the other side of a small partition of ceramic topped with razorsharp cuttings from the various industrial cutting plants. The main export from the desk, as one might well expect there to be something useful for the prisoners to do, is bullet casings and gun barrels. About twice a month the city's caravans bring in big billets of brass and smaller yet equally valuable bits of tungsten. These are pressed into barrels and bullet casings as normal.

Your stay was uneventful, to say the least. The whole time there was this almost buzz of activity from below. In the night they fed you some wonderful and delicious cooked frog steak garnished with some very appetizing ant nectar. This was sure to be one of the last times you would eat that before going back to the poverty that is your life.

Around two in the morning, the officers come by and question you a little more to make sure you aren't lying about this. After your explanation of events they are somewhat satisfied with what you've said and leave you alone for the rest of the night.

In the morning, you gather your belongings and head off to town. Once again the A.R.C
H.E.R.S are firing at some poor insect, as is normal on a summer morning. Your apartment is twelve blocks into town, so you opt to take the wire, a large length of extension cord that's been hollowed out and is being used as a highway. You get home quickly enough to see old man Zeroch leave for his job at the pantry. He waves hello and hurries off.

You head to your room. The door is slightly ajar and you distinctly remember closing it.
