Better: Sylvans hate rocks because for whatever reason, they don't hallucinate about rocks talking to them. Maybe smoking rope reed lets them actually commune with plants (and other living things that aren't sentient or evil), to a very limited degree, although plants don't likely have much to say.

"Rocks are so harsh, dude! I fell over and hit my head on one, and it didn't even say sorry! he just kept staring at me."

so they smoke rope reed to commune with nature? Interesting idea.

but don't you think the plants would be a bit pissed that the elves burned their brethren?

Rope Reed begs for death, the elves take pity apon them.

Umm... when Rope reed grows, the stalks (which are lined with tiny seeds at the edges) die before the winter. In the spring, the dead rope read is decayed and the seeds grow with nutrients from the resulting detritus. Rope reed for smoking is harvested just before the new crop grows, as a mold (the psychoactive ingredient) grows during winter on the reeds. This dead matter is what is smoked. Since the elves eat their dead brethren, this should fall right within their moral code of using the ingredients nature leaves them.

...in other words, it's elf-kosher.

how'd you find out so much about rope reed?

NO DWARF GROWS OUTDOOR PLANTS! SPECIALLY NOT ELVEN ONES!

..well, maybe sunberries, they make a fine liquor

So, they only grow overground plants to add certain flavor notes in their drinks.

Ah, of course, it's all the time of harvesting that makes them elven. For rope, you harvest it right before the stalks fall.

...and who says you can't be dwarfy overland? Everyone knows that sunberries taste the strongest when grown in a thick layer of vomit!

I was wrong about you, truly you have extensive knowledge of dwarven farming.

she has deformed fingers
She has sketchy fingers :). I drew it in, like, 5-7 min because I am recently short on time. I should stop drawing wrong anatomy stuff in short periods of time, because it looks unfinished and wrong :P.

Fault: Awesome. With colors it's even more vivid. I hope to see next one :). And I wish I had time to finally color 3 pages I drew. Well, whatever, I am just organizing myself wrong. I've never been time-efficient.

P.S. Also, what's up with these STUDDED bands of leather hanging from his loincloth? Other than that, cool Sylvan.

P.P.S. I could redrew him to look how I picture them, but I won't because I would get another wall of "we don't want it" replies :P.

The elven farming talk is interesting, but get me suspicious about where people are getting the info from...

Here's an elven guard. I decided to postpone my work a bit and draw something:

He wields a wooden sword, but it looks more like a police baton, and it cuts as well as one. Also he wears an artifact wooden gauntlet. Sadly moody crafters create only one during their mood. Probably they lack determination to finish the pair.

Also... An abomination! A dwarf and elf hybrid!

What background? I often place my own pics in a toned down manner on BG when I don't have time or don't want to draw something. I don't like when there's no background at all.

The dwarf/elf hybrid looks like a heavily bearded vulcan, although I don't think the vulcans even have facial hair. Not even Spock, himself half elf Vulcan, doesn't show any signs of facial hair.

now that I think about it, and Elf/Dwarf hybrid (dwarlf?) would look a lot like a human.

taller than a dwarf, harier than an elf, the perfect balance of litheness and stoutness.

I don't know what their ears would look like though, cause right now I draw dwarves with small, rounded, kinda rodent-like ears.
