I left this on a chalkboard in one of the classrooms in the Business department at my university.
I don't know what it is, but it's obviously Dwarf Fortress-inspired. And probably City of Saints and Madmen-inspired, too.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

That is pretty awesome. Hopefully the RNG will be good enough to churn it out as a titan or forgotten beast somewhere. Squidbeard the King of Mushrooms.

no, goblins are [NARROW], elves are [LARGE], apparently.

also here's a troll:

Oh yay! He has 6 fingers!!! A good pair for my elven druidess :D.

P.S> Apparently, if df trolls were like yours, they'd be short distance runners. Speed:500 anyone? Hehe, good stuff, Fault.

yeah it's not a DF troll, those are bulkier and slower and don't have as many fingers.

It's actually a design for trolls who will appear later in mah webcomic. They're supposed to be a sort of biblical iterpretation of giants, the "nephilim", which are the monstrous offspring of fallen angels and mortal men.

A good pair for my elven druidess :D.

I am mildly disturbed by the implications of this message.

Woohoo, I wonder how did you make it. Some sort of script for some cool program to convert world map? Did you write that? Looks cool.

Yeah, but it has a texture of "normal" map applied :P. I want to rotate it right now :D.

Could've exported the heightmaps, then created a render based on those maps, texturing it with the exported game map. Alternatively, he might've made a script based on exported heightmaps that maps different vanilla textures to areas of certain height (ie, high areas get the "mountain" tiles, etc).

Yup. Applied the heightmap to a subdivided plane, used Blender's "noise" function, then applied the normal game map. Also a secondary plane at ocean level with just the game map.

I'm not sure how many would actualy use it, but some kind of explanation of what exactly you did and what programs you used would be intresting.
