You know the transparecy was intended. I wouldn't have thought it works.

Also, ambient light (which I turned down a bit) just takes a bit of contrast out of the picture. Not sure if it looks cool, but anyway, here it is:

He's got a point though, the goblins in Dwarf Fortress don't actually look like anything so it's really just up to the user's imagination.

What? No, there are descriptions now that even specify the kind of earlobes; although it is the user's imagination allows them to mod such things. The vanilla game's goblins have generally green skin and generally red-violet hair. I recall discussion over puce colored hair here.

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.

The general structure and shape of the body isn't so detailed that you could directly draw a goblin from the description that would be the same as how everyone envisioned it, though. For example:

"The dog is large in size. It has brown fur. It has a long snout and big ears."

I doubt everyone would imagine that dog the same way, though everyone's mental image of the dog would be similar enough for it to be distinguishable - Balathustrius's goblin looks like a pretty generic goblin to me. DF goblins also sound like pretty generic goblins from their descriptions,
so it's really just up to the user's imagination.

I imagine DF goblins as being rather good looking, and with crazy punk rocker hairdos.

That goblin looks like a Yoda version of Grey Hulk.

I meant that this goblin looks more like the "savage-animal" kind, while DFs original goblins are more like the "civilized-yet-evil-fascist" kind.

I swore the face was a picture from a movie when I first saw it. For some reason the rest of his body looks less real than the head, though.

Yeah, toward the end, I started realizing he looked like Yoda.  FML.

Maybe because he's naked.   :P

Yeah, I sort of lost motivation to render out the body when I noticed his face looked like Yoda.  Thanks though.

Here's something that's not a goblin:
