E. My bet is that the farmer has a glowing blue stone or something...

FoU has some twisted role ideas. Screw second-guessing this mechanical garbage spaghetti, I'm basing everything on reads and visible daytime behaviour.

Would you like to play a game of Mafia? The subforum is always open to new players.

You ask him if he can offer anything else.

He shakes his head. "L-look. We're just a poor peasant family, do you understand? We have neither great riches nor mystic treasures. If you can't accept food or an apprentice, then..." He trails off, clearly anxious.

A: food
B: apprentice
C: demand both
D: no spell

Here's hoping we help them become not poor and maybe eventually sort of rich!

A, seriously, we'd be much better off getting an apprentice we know actually has potential, not some random farmer we'd be lucky to be able to teach a few basic cantrips. By Armok, we're still an apprentice for all intents and purposes, let's save finding an apprentice for when we're powerful enough to destroy a small city and have a few hundred serfs paying us taxes. This farmer will completely remove our need to waste time obtaining food, giving us more time to research and become more powerful, getting us to the point we can get a capable apprentice faster.
