Name: Erina Nanami. As a magical girl, Blaze Knight
Zen Ogun will do.
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Appearance:Human:
Erina is tall for her age, standing around 5'5'', with a light, albeit muscled, build belying immense physical strength. Erina's long, black hair is often tied back to keep it out of her clear blue eyes, often with a small pin or a black stick, standing out against her pale skin. She often wears her school uniforms with the top buttons undone, and black leather jackets worn only over the shoulders and not fully, dressing like a typical delinquent. She completes the look with short skirts that would see her arrested in a place with stricter modesty laws (had she not also elected to wear bike shorts under her skirt to protect her modesty from stinking perverts). Her right hand also bears a scar across the back, gained from a fight where she'd been thrown across a road and scraped it; to hide this, she often wears red fingerless gloves, contributing to her appearance as a
yankii. Altogether, she strikes an attractive, but also imposing, figure.
Transformed: Erina's stereotypically
yankii clothing is replaced with a more exposed outfit, as her leather jacket and white shirt is replaced with a metal plate covering her not-inconsiderable chest, and her abdomen covered by bandages wrapped around it, showing off her toned stomach. Her wrists are covered by similar bandages, and her shoulders covered by leather pauldrons strapped together by straps and the metal plate. Erina's typically well-kept hair is let down, kept in place by a cracked stone
oni mask with gold horns and a red tuft of hair extending from the top; when worn, the eyes of the mask resemble the embers of a growing flame. This mask is often kept swept above Erina's hair, despite it being intended to be worn, giving her the appearance of having red hair extending from the rest of her onyx hair. Finally, her legs are protected by a billowy pair of white trousers and leather sandals, which leave flaming tracks that fade quickly into the air as she moves.
Personality: Erina is, all things said, rather nice despite her reputation. Although her way of speaking is rather rough, she tries to act as polite and nice as possible, and it is naturally in her to be kind. However, her temper is quick and her tongue harsh when angered, and Erina is easily angered when she feels she or someone else has been wronged. She is rather protective of others she feels are vulnerable, and has a great sense of justice, having an intense dislike of people who pick on those weaker than them. She has a distaste for figures of authority, but will not outright disparage them unless they do something she perceives as stupid; indeed, if they earn her respect, Erina will gladly drop her distaste and grant them the respect she feels they've earned. Erina likes a good fight, but she doesn't go out of her way to find the next battle, only ever fighting when her sense of justice is offended. Despite her delinquent looks and behaviour, Erina is surprisingly well-read, a fan of literature and anime in her spare time, and rather hard-working at whatever she puts her mind to.
Backstory: From a young age, Erina knew hardship and difficulty, living her life in Sendai. The daughter of Ayane Nanami, a single mother who worked as a hostess at a bar and had Erina in her late teens, Erina sometimes went hungry and barely afforded to go to school, only doing so because her doting mother insisted that Erina get the chances she never could. When she could be around, Ayane tried to instil good values in her daughter, such as justice, kindness and industriousness, often pressing her to do her homework even when she hated doing so, reading books in order to learn how to, and always teaching her to stand up for the weak. Although some virtues took longer than others to instil, Erina nonetheless grew up with a strong sense of morals, chief among them a dislike for those who fell afoul of hurting the vulnerable. She also held a deep love for her mother, grateful to her for working so hard to raise her even through illness, and tried to do her best at school to make her mother proud.
At school, Erina often got into trouble, simultaneously making her teachers proud with her excellent grades and frustrating them with the amount of incidents she got into involving beating up other people. Often, Erina gave the same reason; her victim was roughing up someone weaker than them and Erina wouldn't allow it to continue unpunished. As such, she was beloved among the younger and weaker students of the school, who saw her as a cool older sister, hated among the popular clique who were intimidated by someone challenging their supremacy by force, and held a rather more divided opinion among the staff, who didn't understand how such an otherwise stellar student could be so rash. As she grew older, her reputation became notorious in the school; some called her the 'Angel-Faced Demon', so called because of her beauty and the subsequent beating one would get if they were foolish enough to cross her.
As she grew older, Erina took odd jobs, despite her mother's protests, because she felt that she couldn't simply let her mother work for her; she could be found sometimes helping lift boxes for a bakery, or working in a fish shop. Erina's reputation spread from her school to the local neighbourhood, as delinquents decided to pick a fight with the 'Angel-Faced Demon' and were sent packing as they discovered that the title was apt and well-earned. Ayane was occasionally disappointed that Erina got into fights when she caught wind of her daughter's reputation, but equally pleased that her daughter was standing up for the very virtues she'd instilled in her. For Erina's part, she lived her life with no regrets, never backing down from someone foolish enough to hurt the weak while she was around and repaying debts in the best way she could.
Weapons of Choice: A trusty magical axe, that shimmers with flames whenever swung or whenever she channels magic through it. It is also a ranged weapon; Erina is capable of throwing her axe while enshrouding it in flames, and having it return to her akin to a boomerang.
Magic Power: Temperature Control: The ability to control temperature within a small range around her, whether raising it or lowering it. As a side effect, Erina is unaffected by temperature extremes.
Element: Fighting Spirit (manifests as red flames)
Faction: (Optional Theme)
