"I really aren't, but I think he might look a bit better in something other than his, uh, usual clothes."
She briefly turns towards Mijimeki and mouths "sorry".

"Hey, why are you apologising? Maybe if we tease him enough, he'll actually talk. It's a mythical event that happens once in a lifetime, only when the planets align, and pigs fly, after all."
Kanade smirks mischievously.

[Empiricist]

"Sorry, sorry. I just thought it might be hurtful to say something like that, if he really likes his clothes or style. He can talk a lot sometimes."
And for the briefest of instants, she glances away with an almost wistful gaze.
"Sor-, er, yeah, not really good at teasing."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"It's an art. It takes years of training, and willing sparring partners."

[Empiricist]

"Oh, I guess, it goes to show I'm not really cut out for it then."

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Well, then I'd be out of a job if you were, wouldn't I?"

[Empiricist]

A quiet chuckle.
"I'm not so sure about that... I'm still not really good at starting conversations. _{Or continuing them. Or talking. Or looking after myself.}"

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Well, we're talking right now, aren't we? You can't be that bad."

[Empiricist]

_{"I guess not."}
She opens her mouth but soon closes it without saying anything and fidgets a bit more before speaking again.
"Speaking of sparring partners, should we try our luck again looking for some more for you?"
Her tone takes on an almost teasing quality.
"Wouldn't want you to get rusty, now would we?"

Mijimeki grips a portion of his outfit, before shrugging.

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"No, we should find some for you. I can't be hogging all the attention, hm?"

[Empiricist]

Aoi's face flushes almost luminescent upon the riposte.
"Er. But. I, I don't really need more friends, I have you and Miji, right? I was just thinking that you might want someone to talk to in your classes. _{Or I guess another person to tease...}"

"Friends are always nice, yeah..."

Mijimeki coughs into his hand. "... What other places should we go to?" His voice is soft, very nearly inaudible. He's still looking at the other tables as he talks.

[Empiricist]

"Friends are always nice, yeah..."

"Then, how about we try helping each other make some new ones? It's always nice to have a few more, especially since we might not end up going to the same universities..."
A brief jolt of terror seemed to flash through Aoi's eyes, as if she just processed the utterances of her own mouth. She immediately works to rectify it.
"Though I suppose, I could follow you wherever if you ask nicely enough."
A (hopefully) coy smile, a bit forced maybe? It's forced isn't it? ...And now it's been held for a little too long. It was here wherein Aoi begins to wish there was a mirror in front of her at all times and beginning worry whether or not her smile is beginning to look too psychotic. It was wasn't it?

A thump signals Aoi trying to bury her head into the table like the world's worst ostrich.

Mijimeki coughs into his hand. "... What other places should we go to?" His voice is soft, very nearly inaudible. He's still looking at the other tables as he talks.

"How about a park?"
Aoi's table-muffled voice responds.
