Idea. Data you shared about ship: reality-overwriting "hospitality field" of some kind. Perhaps closer proximity to that could undo this effect?

Somewhere in the distance, the sound of thunder. Another tremor. No and Avi could sense something from the forest, almost like slumber being disturbed.

Clouds seemed to be gathering over the woods, back the way they came.

Avi, presumably still hugging the Traveller, tries to tug him to his feet.

"Come on now, get up! There are clouds coming, tremors, and will you just sit idly by carving honeycombs while you perish? If not, sit up and run!"Rajita stomps her feet, frustrated.

Avi, presumably still hugging the Traveller, tries to tug him to his feet.

Somehow, he's lighter than he seems. As he begins to be pulled upwards, he tries to grip the table, and-

It had been such a nice holiday. The air was so fresh, the country so fine, and these people so nice. One fine day that stretched on and on and on. Friends It would be so nice, wouldn't it just, to stop worrying and just stay a while? But...

He promised

"_Frost..." The Traveller straightened his tuque, despite his arm being ensnared in a hug. Everyone stood right where they had been, except that the Traveller was back in his old clothes. "Take me to her."

They emerge from the woods to meet villagers of many shapes, sizes, and colors running the other way. The ground quakes and cracks, and lightning strikes around the chrome box standing in the center. He of straw hat and indeterminate age stands nearby, strumming his guitar at speeds even the cyborgs can't follow. "Sorry ma'am, but I can't have you givin' grief to everyone else." Bark wraps and warps until a tree stands in its place. His music slows down, the tremors subside and finally cease. Some of the villagers halt in their panic, and turn around.

And then the tree turns inside out.

Brass and silver spread out, coating ground and sky. The trees in the forest begin to move and uproot, softening into all manner of utterly bizarre forms. But as soon as they are free, many of them are overtaken and engulfed by the spreading metals. Villagers resume their flight as some become likewise encased. Panels like those from the control pillar float freely through the air.
