One last time.Do the prank real quick, then rush home for repairs/ last minute finishing up
The prank is pulled of perfectly! As in spirit of the prank you wallclip straight through few doors while forgetting to snatch assistants.
Simply not possible if you obey laws of this universe. Gravity wells produce opposite effect, but local acceleration of time is not possible.
((Didn't I make exotic matter for my wormhole? IIRC, that exotic matter should be anti-mass matter or something? So use anti-mass to get anti-gravity and speed up my local time? Just a thought.))
Mercury, Mars and Luna produce two days worth of computronium each, which, when your mind is someday copied over, should be twice as effective than your current quantum brain.
((Wait wait, what? Copied over? I thought due to Meshanblov Collective tech I can just add them directly to my computing power, since the entire functioning of that tech is that it ended the era of multiple copies of me running around? What's going on? The intention was to give me a last-minute boost in research yesterday.))
Change over to the Computronium, and then go Smart-Matter. Ramp up time acceleration to maximum and rapidly convert planets, stars, etc. into more production/computing mass. Just uninhabited planets and stars without life in their solar system. Yay!
Oh yeah, I knew I was forgetting something, make the three super-soldier quantum brains better at multi-tasking and working together, so they can get full efficiency out of the drone swarm and the main body.
Design some sort of effective lift system for the drones so they're all sporting particle beams.
I guess I can send over some of my nanites via wormhole if needed to finish this last minute stuff before the deadline
Priority 1: Femto-technology: The technology to manipulate things on a Femto scale, which allows to me to tinker with some of the more fundamental building blocks of reality. Go further to atto if possible.
Priority 2: Attempt to use psionics to locate other people who are using psionics, on a universal level. Send sensor drones to those locations to establish communications to other people who have tapped into divine power. Yay~
Priority 3: Reality Warping: I'm well on my way to this already, but mould every aspect of reality like clay.
Priority 4: Singularity Engineering: Play around with black holes, probably using psionic gravity manipulation. Seems fun.
Moving your mind over to the cheatium platform and then blatantly ignoring whole range of laws of physics. At this point they are more like guidelines for you.
Soldier upgraded in last possible moment.
Drones need a major revamp to make that possible. They are more aimed for pistol sized weapons, or small SMG at best. Giving them ability to carry three meter long particle accelerator and its pilot electrolaser AND a nucler reactor it needs is just not possible. Total and complete redesign is necessary. Or cheating. Cheating is easier. And faster.
Observing
laws guidelines of this universe means after conversion they won't be drones anymore, but rather gunships, and that doesn't fit in term of super soldier any more. Seriously, how overpowered you want spaz to be? His particle cannon already gives him instant kill ability, but having a horde flying particle cannons isn't really fair anymore, not in IC nor in OOC. And I recall you saying
he would be on his own...Femto-tech. Have it.
Psionics detection. You discover eleven locations in our galaxy with psionic activity besides Earth, scattered rather equally. You discover nanite swarms eating dead rocky planets and replicating. Turns out they are Ozarck from planet Earth. Yay, you found your equal after all! He actually might be your superior by small margin!
Reality warping. Magic is your way. Notice me, outer god-sempai!
Singularity engineering. You blow up few blackholes for fun.

Total brainpower of Meshanblov Collective: Bloody singularity.
Yeah, get me some untrained soldiers, but ones with some experience, if possible. Preference for people with high killcounts over just a long time of combat. Some people find it easier to kill than others, and those are just the kinds of minds I want.
Let's see... make sure all the systems are working on that suit. See if I can get the brains to do some instinctual melee attacks autonomously.
Does the Terrorizer have an inbuilt power source? If so, build some extras and have the brains carry them around.
How many brains can I manufacture in time for the deadline, and is there any real limit to the number that solder can command at once?
It's hard to tell how much these guys have experience because they were kidnapped by professional mercenary squads. But brains are brains, hopefully they are better than your avarage test subject in terms of war. You quickly perform the operation on them.
More autonomy you give them back, more changes they have to become independant again. But you work very, very carefully to reach your goal and think you were able to avoid that pitfall. They don't have very good aim with their melee attacks, but it's enough to trouble any untrained assailant.
Terrorizer doesn't have built in power source. It has always been plugged to external outlet.
Manufacture brains? Zero when you word it like that. But enough to reach capacity of the system. Besides constructing replacement parts is permitted outside of the deadline and in between testing rounds as long as you are not developing anything new.
The slave brain array was built with six brains in mind, so going too far beyond that is not recommended. Eight is probably fine. Ten maybe not so much.

Ask for at least a copy of me to stay around with the Doc, win or lose. It's been interesting, and hey, the Company doesn't need to know everything.
Finalize preparations for tomorrow. Get some camouflage clothing and stuff if I can.
That's up to him, and you are valuable employee for the Company so I don't quite think your mind will be wiped so easily. Of course if doc George decides to do it anyway there's a little Company can do to prevent it.
Technically all soldiers are given a week or two time to get familiar with their new weapons, armors, augmentations and other systems before they are put into their trial of fire and blood. It's simulated time primarily.
"Sometimes in your research you will find an opportunity to potentially turn yourself into a god. It happens more often than you think! When it does, though, the first question you need to ask is: what happened to the previous idiot who discovered this?"
Head Researcher Curious George, Knuckle-Deep In The Mind, A Memoir
OPERATION: ALL-SEEING EYE
Step Twenty-Two: have the EP check if his functional teleport abilities have improved as a result of having the stonemind on hand. Congratulate him on a job well done, and tell him that if all goes well he probably won't remember any of this. It's been a pleasure working with the lad!
OPERATION: ALL-SEEING EYE has concluded, result: a hivemind has been equipped with improved neural parameters, control mechanisms and considerable teleport abilities, complete with a non-organic backup unit to be carried along (later black box recovery? should be very difficult to reverse engineer, at least).
OPERATION: CLOSING QUESTION
Step the Only: see if I can send a simple mind probe (using the relatively simple, already mapped brain of Caenorhabditis elegans as a base to work from) into the great beyond and have it relay transcendent secrets without fully understanding them to a terminal on this side (link with WHW-B, or a simplified version thereof). Should be a good project for the last afternoon as I relax. And hey, maybe there's something really funny on the other side I can break out for the wrap party.
OPERATION: CELEBRATE WITH CAKE
Step PARTY: after EP is done with testing the stonemind and everyone's settled in, set them on the task of getting a party together. Invite lab techs, EP, ape test beds. Conclude the festivities with closing remarks from my Journey terminal if there's anything even vaguely resembling speech within it. Actually, conclude them with said remarks even if there isn't. Laughs will be had either way.
OPERATION: ALL-SEEING EYEMarginal improvement. It may come handy in some special cases, but mostly it won't matter.
OPERATION: CLOSING QUESTIONBuild two modified WHW-B's with infinite range, connect one to the nematode and another into testbed receiver. Add WHW-T into nematode and feed it altered set of TG coordinates (altered in terms of source shape and size, can't keep sending entire sections of lab). Maybe WHW-ASE too to read in case there's something to read. This makes a neat party trick.
But nothing came.
OPERATION: CELEBRATE WITH CAKEIs everybody ready? With a flash of light you send the nematode and its modules into far beyond. The flash isn't anything worse than getting pointed into eyes with a LED flashlight. And with that you declare party open! EP made a mean cake and proves to be an excellent chef. It's a great party. No speeches in particular, but you thank everyone for their contributions (especially yourself).

Incorporate the half-finished environmental protection into the subject. Protection from some environment is better than protection from none.
All nighter on the robot arms. Lots of coffee. Get it done and implanted.
Day starts with altering your soldiers skin and integrating a gas filter into his mouth and nose. Now he can't complain anymore about lack of his manhood. Then you go back to the extra arms. You ensure the harness is sturdy enough to handle arms and any weight they might be carrying, adjustable enough so you don't have build another from scratch for your soldier when you finally implant it into him. The arms are simple, literally bare bones system covered by few layers of wrapped rubber. They are as flexible as legs of your soldier, all joints can bend at least into 270° angle. It doesn't produce much feedback beyond joint angle and pressure sensors on hands. But it should be enough.
Clinical tests with test subject prove it a medium success. The system could be better, but it is midnight already and you still need to integrate it into your volunteer. When you finish the operation it is past 3 AM already. Bit over deadline, but as long as it isn't 6 o'clock you are fine. Now it is up to the soldier make best out of it.

I don't understand the outer god enough to want to risk waking it, so I'll hold off on making any energy nanite constructs. the idea wasn't entirely to become an energy being, but to have that as a secondary vector.
Alright. Last day. Hmm. I believe that anything I cold give to my soldier at this point - he could, with a little creativity, grant himself. Back-up mind? Mental resiliance against intrusion? perhaps some additional form of intelligence gathering, such as full access to the world wide web, and knowledge of computer languages? Large scale flashbangs, to distract and disorient? Sonic amplifiers? Honestly ,without breaking the game even further by replicating him, that's all I can think of. I mean, if you want to, I could replicate him. I could.
how about psionic mental acuity? the idea is that a) he is more resistant against mind invading attacks, and b) he is able to discover more information about his opponents throgh what information he receives through their movements, attacks, defenses, and behavioral patterns. I'll leave it to your discretion whether or not he gets replicated, say, one self for every opponent.
As for me, I will invite kind and generous people to ascend - people who invest their lives in the wellbeing of others. Oh, and I will begin modifying planets for earthling habitabiility, with the goal (post game) of eventually teleporting lots of humans out to other worlds to live. I'll probably teleport those who have the greatest needs - the hungry, the overcrowded, etc,. I'll station some nanite "guardians" on these planets to guide and instruct the people to build a decent, generally kind civilization, but eventually I'll leave them to their own devices.
I'll continue to search for life and intelligent life while growing in wisdom and power, and researching the fundamental nature of reality, and checking for other universes. Anything that would probably irritate the outer being, I'll not do. I seek to understand it before I can begin to pass any kind of judgment.
And of course, Continue replicating.
It's been a blast, you all.
My tech went places I didn't expect. Some good, some bad, some frikken awesome. A part of what success I had was due to a scientific detour. I was researching something and got sidetracked (via rolls I guess) onto another line of research that proved quite profitable. Here's hoping that everyone enjoys the next game too! I hope teh soldiers all have a good time, and that we scientists didn't let anyone down too much.
The thing about these "psionic" powers is that they are unresistable. If someone uses them, there's nothing that can stop it. But automatic counter intelligence could be done. You locate your soldier, stick tendrils into his swarm brain and add necessary alterations. That should do it.
With that done the blob that is you on Earth reforms into human form and teleports away somewhere, looking for suitable people. You find many. Some of them refuses your offer on grounds of morals: one have to be fully human to understand plight of others. Others refuse on religious grounds, accepting aid from demon is to damn one's self. But those more acceptable mindset take up your offer. And your fellow super geniuses... well, that's up to them.
Elsewhere in the galaxy you eat and replicate, never having enough. No life with capacity to host a mind is found anywhere, but you have only started your search. Getting out of this universe means passing through the outer god, which in turn means very real possibility of losing yourself. Perhaps after you become comparable. Ant can always dream.
Doctor Ozarck here wants to invite everyone along for the Grand Tour of Reality. He pops up in everyone's personal room and gives you option to ascend beyond humanity, immortality via nanomahchines, super powers from god and membership in swarm soul communications network. The man is either very selfless or plans to integrate your individuality into the collective by force.

Soul of Swarm: ?
If there is more work to be done on the combat armor, I finish it. This is my highest priority today unless it was completed yesterday ((my last turn didn't mention whether I got anything done on the suit)).
My next highest priority is Monster Maker II, so if I complete the combat suit, I try to get this combat-ready. If I do not complete it in time, I order a small explosive mortar from the Company for renegadetarantula to use instead.
And then, if that gets finished... I think I'm done? If I have spare time left after my supersoldier is equipped, I do some preliminary work on another project. Hopefully the company will be impressed with my zeal. If not, well, I'll know a little more about my next spare time project:
- Codename Aphrodite: A body slightly larger than a human's, specialized for observation and precise manipulation rather than combat. The large head has eight eyes (with eagle-quality vision, ideally), each seeing a different range of colors, so closing different eyes would allow the body to filter out specific wavelength ranges. The torso has six long, slender arms with delicate fingers capable of precise and delicate movements. It is supported by three legs arranged in a tripod shape.
Tarantula armor was done five days ago. It's listed in your completed techs.
You are still distracted by your fantasies but you get just enough done when you notice night coming to declare it combat ready. Pheromone protection didn't make it into final design, but horns, improved musculature and largely increased metabolism did. Plus scales, claws and carnivore teeths.
That's about it then. Personal hobbyist projects can be done in down time, but nothing more for soldier.
And you got pranked by invisible robot overlord who after the fact proceeded to run through few doors.

Solider Reporting for murder duty
((Solider Snaker, is that you? Also huzzah, the soldier lives!))
Prepare for the final day. Have literally a ton of coffee hauled into the workshops. This is gonna be an all-nighter.
((I have decided on names. It's kinda obvious in retrospect. I blame lack of sleep.
The body itself is called "Artax", following its A/RT-ACCS designation. It's the "material component" of the unit, dehumanized and thus most likely to end up in reports and various documentation.
"Atreyu" is the generic proper name for the synthetic intelligent entities, again following the ATREIU designation. This is what you call a synthetic when you don't know his name and don't want to refer to him as an object.
"Reingeist" is the name of the particular military unit we've created here, Atreyu soldiers in Artax bodies. Hopefully simple enough.))
First thing, ask Atreyu Prime for an estimate on how long it will take to distribute the accumulated training between all bodies. This is going to be his entire task for today, accumulating experience and distributing it, preferably the distributing will be done during the nighttime, so that we have the day for training and testing.
Testing and activities to be performed by the Reingeists and assistants today in the available time:- Thermal endurance - Get a small insulated room, a treadmill for a Reingeist to run on so they generate heat, and some industrial air conditioning units pointing into it. We'll get three environments - one normal, one dry and cold, one humid and hot. Make sure that each set of conditions is accounted for, and the unit performance is adjusted so as to stay within the capacity of the cooling system.
- Visibility - Specifically to thermal sensors, metal-detectors, and radar. An Artax does not have much in terms of conventional metals, but it probably still has a noticeable radar signature. Likewise with thermals, the active cooling it can perform on its surface can reduce its visibility if used correctly. Check how visible an Artax is to these detection methods, and make sure to try out the TOC grenade; how much concealment it provides, how close to the cloud an active Reingeist can be and remain concealed, whether the UV vision mode can penetrate the cloud, those sort of things.
- Variable locomotion and dynamics testing - This is an extension of the practice from yesterday. Check if a Reingeist can carry another (say, disabled; hey, Yorick! Got a job for you!) Reingeist. How much can they carry? Could one lift and carry a civilian car? Tow a bus?
- Practice movement without use of some limbs. It's not unreasonable to expect a leg to get damaged at some point in the testing. Practice using a bipedal stance, rearing up and using the tail for balance - like a velociraptor.
- Practice defensive behavior - it might not come up in testing, but it might be helpful in other ways. Have some assistants dress up in full-body protective armor, to act as scared and confused civilians. Have some guys from security stand as a group some distance away and attempt to "kill" them with rubberized pistol bullets and beanbag shotgun roungs. Can a single Reingeist, in armor but armed only with a sword, interposed between the "killers" and the "civilians", prevent the civilians from being hit by bullets? Can several of them? Start with only one "killer" and one "civilian" and gradually increase the difficulty until the success rate starts dropping off. (Killing Security personnel is heavily discouraged. Rule it so that if the Reingeist moves within a few feet of a shooter, the shooter is considered dead and stops firing. The Reingeist can deflect bullets with more than just the sword, obviously, pretty much all of an Artax is bulletproof.)
The Scientist and any Reingeists not occupied in testing will make sure that armor, ammo, and weapons are all available in sufficient quantities. The plan hinges on whether or not a multi-unit team will be allowed in testing. But in either case, the best way to go about equipment load is using "classes".
- Recon - Equipped with the Sidearms, the Hypersword, and the SAM-Bow. The autocannon is removed in favor of a lower profile, a less cluttered equipment load that won't make much noise, and an increased supply of arrows that would be stored in the "saddlebags" that previously held autocannon ammo. Carries TOC grenades and some regular thrown bladed weapons. Probably using a cut-down version of the armor that does not protect the extremities fully.
- Support - Equipped with the SAM-Bow, the Autocannon, and the Hypersword. Intended to engage from a distance using the long range of its weapons. Arrows for the bow carried in quivers that replace sidearm holsters. Carries TOC and explosive grenades, as well as mostly conventional ammunition that works better at range.
- Assault - Equipped with the Sidearms, the Autocannon, and the Hypersword. Basically maximum firepower. Carries mostly explosive grenades but at least one TOC, as well as a mix favoring superalloy, HATAK, and explosive ammunition.
Once testing is done,
The Reingeists split into groups of 8 and get camouflage applied to them. They can probably receive the training update from Atreyu Prime while this is happening. Each group gets camouflage for one of the testing environments - arctic, jungle, and urban. Remember to cover up the cameras with clear film beforehand, and clear out any muffled microphones afterward.
Once the base layer of camo is added, everyone gets to do a bit of personalization. Have every Reingeist choose a specific unique overlay pattern (in the colors of their camo, of course) that get hydrographics'ed onto their face and limbs, thus enabling people to tell them apart without using the stupid-ass name stickers. That's probably going to be the best way for them to differentiate, going forward.
I'm not sure how to read the the production results from yesterday. Assistants produced 1 sword and 1 bow per day, so they made 2 of each so far. The Reingeist A-H squad produced two, is that two of each? Is that two of each for each of the eight of them? One sword and one bow for each?
Basically, how many of each of those do I even have? It might not be important if I can only field one unit per test, but we'll see.
Either way,
have at least one bow and sword camo'd in each of the three color patterns.
And
as the final act of everything done thus far, attempt to design self-tying shoelaces. With myomers and working off tiny batteries in the aglets. The world will never again be the same.
Synchronization takes probably whole night. And it's not like Company can observe or understand data traffic happening during synch, so you aren't very limited in terms when it can happen.
Tests:
Thermal endurance:
Normal room temperature: Running without rest requires deployment of radiator wings in a half hour. Electricity running in myomer causes heat rather easily.
Hot and humid: It's humidity that is more problems than heat itself. Wings are out in five minutes.
Cold and dry: Wings are remporarily deployed after three hours. It's doubtful Artax have to run so long without breaks, and if enviroment has snow then wings are probably not needed at all.
Visibility:
Thermal: Artax is regularly exhaling hot air, so cooler the enviroment easier it is to see. Wings can flare quite bright initially before temperature drops. Not thermally visible two meters into TOC cloud, but it seriously shouldn't breath that stuff. Covering radiators in thermally reflective stuff is not very bright idea.
Magnetics: Superalloy is magnetically as active as block of wood, but electric circuits formed by myomers do generate detectable electromagnetic field. Naturally strength of this field depends of myomer activity. Relaxed myomer is not detectable.
Radar: Unfortunately rather clearly visible. Superalloy reflects those radar pulses effectively. TOC could naturally helps.
Variable locomotion and dynamics:
Artax should be able to carry another, but tail, cannon and wings may be annoyingly on the way. How much it can carry depends actually how big it is, something that has not been established yet. We'll go over that part tomorrow.
Even a human can tow a bus. Human can tow even a damn Boeing 767, so there's no way Artax cannot.
Artax is not a velociraptor. It is a cat with head and tail of velociraptor. But cats can walk on their hind legs and the tail actually helps acting as a third/fourth limb depending of situation.
Defensive behavior:
As long as there's only one shooter, Reingeist won't have any problems. Biggest concern is spread of both shooters and civilians. Minimal on both parties means two shooters can semireliably handled, but it gets hard to be in way of three or more projectile paths. Physically impossible even.
Armor, ammo and weapons will be available in sufficient quantities, they can be produced without limits before and in between testing rounds. Assuming you don't build large amount of Reingeist's more.
Talking about that, the task was to create a supersoldier, not supersoldiers. Notice the singular form. How do you plan to pass a group of Reingeists as one?
The thing about personalized camo produces as many conflicts as there are Reingeists. They all basically have identical mind, so their though process and decision making follows same line, meaning almost everybody ends up with same camo customization plan.
It's two each, so 16. It doesn't particularly matter, because you have a week or two worth of simulated time to build more.
Self-tying shoelaces? Easy.
