Hello and welcome to beginner's mafia, even though I missed the day start!
{This is my IC voice. Whenever I talk between these "{ }", it means I am talking as an IC and not a player. I will strive to guide you as best as I can and will give you advice even if it hurts my chances of victory. You can trust me as an IC, you cannot trust me as a player.}
{Usually, an IC would explain RVS and such, but since you've already started at it, I'll instead go through your posts and explain any problems with them.}
roo:What are you going to do this time?
{TBF is not a newbie, so I might as well pick this as an example of a random question. People ask them in the start of any game to get discussion started. Sometimes they are useful, though more often than not they serve just to get people posting. Sometimes these are accompanied by random votes to apply pressure and see how people react.}
TBF{This is one such vote. You can also use the blue-coloured finger of suspicion, but I find it to be useless.}
As for scum hunting...
If it lies, lynch!
If it sweats, lynch!
{Firstly, and this applies to all of you: quote. And trim the quotes to remove stuff that is not relevant. If you are on a phone or other mobile device, quoting can be a pain, so take note of the reply number above the post in question and note that down instead.
There is more to scumhunting than the above, but lynching liars is usually a good thing.}
Only one game, but don't be a prick, don't loudly mention dice, don't claim a role, and don't look on your old posts would be pretty high up.
{Claiming roles can often turn a game, but it takes the right circumstances and should not be done lightly. Day one claiming in particular is a very bad idea outside bastard games.}
I planned to watch and learn. (I think) I know about the general concept though (hunt the mafia and try to prove they are the mafia).
{Ask questions. Scum won't always hand themselves over to you. If you aren't sure, ask. If you are sure, ask anyway.}
unvote vishdafish but you should still be throwing out random questions. In my experience the less active the town is the more likely the mafia is to win.
{A simple red unvote will do to, well, unvote. Lurking is not a scumtell or towntell, by the by. But it's bad in general because it makes the game Not Fun.}
Tiruin, had any trouble sleeping the last few nights?
A few silly questions are good and all, but how does this help you find scum?
