You technically don't even need to download Discord. You can just run it in the browser.

I mostly have a distinct lack of interest in using Discord in any capacity.

Dagomoth

5 Meter tall insect humanoids. With exoskeleton, and fuzzy fur on said exoskeleton.
Their head has antennas, big black eyes, and a single glowing Red Eye on their forehead with yellow iris. They have a fluffy mane.
Their body ends in an insect abdomen, from which they make silk. The silk is very strong and smooth.
They have 2 legs and 4 arms. Their feet have 2 toes, ending in claws and they walk digitrade, the hands have 2 fingers + 1 thumb.
They have a pair of large moth wings, which let them fly.
Their fur is dark grey, with a blue tiger pattern. Their antennas are black.

Their Red Eye can unleash a magical attack while open. This attack will start to encase all in the Dagomoth's gaze in crimson and black crystals.
The attack is accompanied by a high pitched screech sound, coming from the eye's magic. The crystals give a more silent but similar sound.
It will even make the ground covered in crystals. And if the ground is grassy or uneven, crystal spikes will form.
The crystals are fragile, but also sharp, if you spend too long in the Dagomoth's gaze, you'll be completely encased, and die.
It takes 5 seconds for a human to be encased.
It takes about 3 minutes for the crystals to disappear, but if an area is crystalled often, it will last longer, it may even become permanent.

Dagomoths strong and powerful, but they're also very shy. They prefer to live high up, and are nocturnal.
They have affinity with Eldritch magic through their Red Eye. If it's broken, they lose their Eldritch affinity.

    Influence based on denizens associating sphere with god: In theory, that's what I'd prefer, but in practice, it's hard to get good, solid numbers. Perhaps it could work if done from discrete conditions, a bit like tiers now compared to continuous Essence before

    Discord IC: Confirming that there is one, but it doesn't see really any use. Also confirming that it's completely unnecessary unless you need many rounds of negotiating a complex creation in minutes rather than hours

The attack is accompanied by a high pitched screech sound, coming from the eye's magic. While cursed, the screeching will continue to be heard.
The curse will worsen with longer exposure, and the screeching will be louder, but it will only be heard by the cursed.
Any damage taken by the cursed, will become worse. Cuts will be savage and deep, impacts will shatter bone.
In extreme cases (cursed by many, or exposed for long), even the wind will cut them.
Plants will wither with exposure to this curse.

As a note, keeping the original crystallization but weakening it enough could potentially accomplish the same (i.e. it wasn't crystallization itself but its effectiveness)

Eh, I didn't want to weaken the crystallization effect. As that would sorta go against how I imagined it'd go.
Where if they went glowing red eye on you, you better not be in their view. Though it could be blocked with a sufficiently large shield.
Or making a smoke cloud, though the smoke would turn into crystal caltrops (well, more like needles, but they sometimes combine).
And when hit, they would have enough time to do something desperate, but not enough time to escape.

Though, maybe I could go lower. But what slowness of the crystallization would be enough for Elite or Advanced?

Breaking free is difficult, and will result in lots of sharp broken crystals.
The attack has a maximum range of about 100 meters.
If within 20 meters and in direct view, 30 seconds until encased. 5 meters, 5 seconds. Example target is human.
This organ doesn't take well to prolonged use, the attack can only be done for up to 1 minute, before becoming unbearable.
Between uses, a 3 minute cooldown is needed.
It takes about 3 minutes for the crystals to disappear, but if an area is crystalled often, it will last longer, it may even become permanent.

I have a weird question, re: Magic schools.

I basically want a school of anti-magic (a school of magic that makes magic less effective on the person that wields it, essentially) but I'm not sure if it falls under any of the current ones. If I created a new school, would I still be a allowed to apply it to my dudes as their free school?
