I hate this election.

I find it kind of funny. Mostly in a schadenfreude kind of way.

I hate this election.

Less than 48 hours until election day, and then at least 7 hours before the polls start opening on the East Coast, then at least 12 hours before the data starts rolling in, then if it's close, another 6 hours to wait for Alaska and Hawaii, and then.... ???

And then five days of aggravation, and then three months of crisis, and then an eternity of bloodshed, and the laughter of thirsting gods.

I'm still waiting for FSB agents to start messing with the election machines. There's not much time left, where the hell are they? This election simply won't be truly complete without a full-on Red Scare right on the election day!

So, is anyone worried about just how fast the public's opinion on FBI has changed from "impartial defenders of justice, despite their personal opinions" to "Trumpland, to the point where them trying to coup the government or "accidentally" forget to prevent one would not be unexpected", in just a few days, and all based on their appointed-by-Obama director being an asshat with a couple questionable information releases, Twitter chatter, and a few news pieces with anonymous sources?

I mean, sure the standards of evidence would be obviously different either way, and sure, FBI has not done some very good things, but this is ridiculous, we're talking about probably the most iconic core law enforcement agency of USA, how could people have so little trust in it?
In addition to what some others said, the FBI is also not entirely seen in a great light lately. The NSA is known for its hacking and such, but the FBI recent has been trying to get in on the action. Comey's most memorable previous sightings have been related to him trying to convince Congress to ban encryption. After that attempt failed, he used the Apple court case to try to get a judge to do so; when that looked like it was a failed attempt, he dropped the case to avoid having precedent set. Going back to Congress for a hearing, he was accused point-blank of "trying to make an end-run around this committee" by a Congressman. And last I heard, he will probably try to have another go at it soon, despite effectively having been told NO by the legislature, the executive branch, and the judicial branch. That's the sort of overreach which is very dangerous.

Not that the FBI doesn't have... serious... serious issues.

I just don't see them manipulating the presidential elections on purpose.

another 6 hours to wait for Alaska and Hawaii
The likelihood of Alaska or Hawaii determining the election is so incredibly close to nil it's essentially a rounding error with most calculators. The election will be called long before then, probably with Ohio and Florida.

I wasn't entirely serious, was messing with ispil by going 'it's almost over, but not quiiiiiittttteee', and yeah, the latest it'll likely be projected would be when results start coming in from the west coast and Alaska and Hawaii aren't likely to be one of the threshold states anyway. Of course though, if a lot of states are close, especially battleground states like Florida and Ohio, it can take some time.

Gotta love that the Trump campaign is *still* trying to describe the fracas at the Trump rally the other day as "an assassination attempt".

Trump's aides may have finally taken away his twitter.

I'm sure they wish that they had taken control of it over a year ago. Of course though, it doesn't say whether he did it willingly or was forced into doing it.

Having tweets being okay'd by aides before getting sent out is actually normal for campaigns, Clinton does it for most things, and Romney had his greenlighted by 12 aides before getting sent out, it's all about message control.

The FBI once more decides not to prosecute Clinton.

I guess they must have all been duplicate emails or something. It's definitely going to be interesting to see how people react to this, though.

Interestingly enough FBI position on emails warranting deeper investigation has matched 100% polls trend
