UXLZ was talking about before the election started though.

I know that a lot of people want to shut WikiLeaks down.

But Goodness is it hard for me to side with anyone when frankly... well...

A Whistleblower typically is only a villain... to the villain and their victims.

They WERE legit whistleblowers initially, and credible ones too, then Assanage let his beef with Clinton get in the way of his credibility.

I think Snowden may have distanced himself from wikileaks by now, dunno.

I'm pretty sure her consistently high popularity from 2009-2014 has more to do with the nomination than secret deals.

You know, I can recall a few years back when there was a popular tv personality with "right wing" positions, an outright comical demeanor, and people who were damn near slathering at the thought of him running.

Instead of Colbert/Stewart we got Trump/Pence... this is truly the worst of all possible worlds isn't it?

While the boy who cried wolf is a villain to everybody.  And *he* didn't have an obvious motive besides amusement.

At least Colbert and Stewart were comical in a good way and didn't spout bile.

Oh, there's definitely been worse. 1968, 1912, 1824, and of course 1860.

You know "Worse" doesn't necessarily mean a bad candidate wins or the results of the election was bad. I mean the election itself :P

Since, I assume, the one Taft won is in there. Yet I don't remember his election being particularly bad... so much that he was considered a highly ineffective president.
I'm pretty sure the election that touched off the single bloodiest war in American History and left a scar accross the nation's psyche that has still not healed fully was a little worse than 2016.

When the US army is marching across George, burning and pillaging as they go, 2016 will be able to qualify for "worst election". As of now, it remains to be seen.

Wikileaks are saying that now the IRS has been added to the list of agencies investigating the Clinton Foundation.
Even if I was inclined to take any notice of Юикиликс (or "ЩікіІэѧжѕ", to be even more inaccurate, but at least visually discernable for what I mean), the IRS is already investigating Trump. Famously so, 'cos that's the only 'reason' he has reneged on releasing the usual paperwork...

The IRS investigating a large organization or someone with a lot of wealth doesn't particularly sound like news to me. Isn't that part of their job?

That's what I'm talking about.

1968: Vietnam, Party Divisions, Race Riots, Utter Clusterfuck
1912: 4-way between a functional socialist, an actual socialist, an actual communist, and a peace candidate who launched the US into WWI months later
1824: The infamous corrupt bargain, medicine hadn't been invented yet, Andrew Jackson was still around occasionally murdering people.
1860: Triggered this little bit of unrest you might have heard of called the American Civil War.
Wilson was also a racist bag of dicks.

There is also that. In fact, Wilson may hold the prestigious title of Most Racist President. A lot of the Presidents certainly made pragmatic use of racism, and some certainly had some racist beliefs, but I don't think anybody besides Wilson was actually, directly motivated by a disdain for the existence of other races. Even fucking Jackson has some redeeming qualities in this regard.

Obama is well known for his loyalty to Chicago food. Having eaten Chicago food....I agree.

Cross-country food imports are not a typical service, so they lack a typical price. No, I sincerely doubt the President is secretly bringing hookers to the White House and calling them "waitresses". Shit, Obama could just go to Nevada and legally obtain the services of prostitutes if he really wanted to.

Spending that much money on this isn't 100% kosher, but given the quality of the President's usual fare, Camp David, golf games, etc I don't care. People complain about the fucking golf games every other year and that shit's public.

Isn't Trump merely being audited, rather than criminally investigated as Wikileaks are saying RE Clinton? One is a normal process, the other is not.

And Wikileaks still have a 100% accuracy record, as far as I'm aware. I genuinely would love to see evidence of them being disproven, but I fear all I'm likely to get instead is 'I bet Assange has been drinking a lot of Putin's 'vodka' hurr hurr hurr' tier humour.

Sometimes I wish LW would flip into being a fervent Hillary supporter to take over for mainiac; I feel like I'd get much better banter.

ANYWAY, of much more interest, is this e-mail here.

Quote
I think Obama spent about $65,000 of the tax-payers money flying in
pizza/dogs from Chicago for a private party at the White House not long
ago, assume we are using the same channels?

Now, I'm sure you've all heard about this dramatic 'Pizza' conspiracy stuff that's been flying around in the last few hours on places like pol and have your own opinions on it. It certainly raised my eyebrows to read it, I'll freely admit it. But I noticed this e-mail because it's pretty crazy whatever 'Pizza' and 'Dogs' actually refers to.

I mean, assuming that it's legit referring to foodstuffs, damn. At those prices, Obama really needs to find a new catering company (and what the hell are 'waitresses'? I mean, I know what waitresses are, but what are 'waitresses'?).

And if they're not talking about food, well, I'm not even going to go there.
Clinton is being investigated. So is everybody else. That's kinda their job. Trump is being investigated for ties to Russia, as are his cronies. Trump is also under investigation for tax avoidance. His charity was basically shut down after he took tens of thousands and spent it on himself, including a few dollars given to boy scouts to cover his son's membership (that's how much of a scrooge mcduck this dude is). He has a trial for fraud later this month for running a scummy unaccredited get-rich-quick university.

As for spending: Fun fact; the US government spends about a million dollars a year each for ex-presidents. Obama could hold such a party once a month for the rest of his life and still be average for a *retired* president. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/report-george-w-bush-has-most-expenses-among-former-presidents-for-2012/2013/03/25/311b5728-9592-11e2-b6f0-a5150a247b6a_story.html

Oh, and if you ever come across further pol conspiracy theories from morons, I recommend simply looking up context. OBAMO SPENDS TONS OF MUNEES ON FOOD is a cool story, but only until you realize that the team of 50 secret service agents covering the place cost even more.
