Okay, prediction:  He's absolutely going to go out there and mow people down with a nerf gun.  Volunteers.

Yeah, where the heck was oppo research? Seriously, there was so much that seemed like obvious things to latch onto that got missed. Though understandably, they did have to divide their attention between up to 8 people and would have had to prioritize the research.

I think it's reasonable to assume they all assumed Trump would burn out so it because a self-unfulfilling prophecy.  He doesn't burn out naturally, you have to take him down.  Normally the frontrunner would do it but the GOP didn't have a frontrunner.

The fact that they had to divide their oppo research between 6-8 major candidates certainly didn't help.

But it's still stupid because Trump was at the top of the polls and anyone with two brain cells would have known that he had some horrible deep dark secret.  I bet we haven't even learned half of his five most disqualifying things yet.

Yeah, they kept attacking each other rather than attack Trump, and when they did attack, it kept backfiring on them.

Meh...that was three years ago. Wouldn't classify it as "human sacrifice" so much as "the kind of bad shit that tends to happen when people try to leave nutty cults". Durham's a pretty chill city, but there are still definitely rough neighborhoods, and the African-American community there won't stand for a bunch of people coming in and trying to disrupt their voting.
Shooting a kid in the back of the head to the serenade of a Lord's Prayer on CD for the glory of Black God seems to qualify as human sacrifice to me, unless the standard is a literal altar and dagger setup.
Yeaah that doesn't really lower my opinion of Durham.  Like Redking pointed out, it's 3 years old (and also not that far away from normal, except for the killing part).
Many things aren't far away from normal when you remove the killing part. And really, can one's opinion of Very South Detroit even fall at this stage?

Oh, and guess what? 2016 strikes again. Gary Johnson just became important.

Oh, and guess what? 2016 strikes again. Gary Johnson just became important.

I saw that earlier and it's even less likely than both Trump and Clinton getting a tie between them (0.15% with Johnson grabbing electoral votes, 0.4% without Johnson involved), but this election has been so wierd that we might invoke Han Solo here "Never tell me the odds.".

Still, it implies that New Mexico is a state that'll have to be watched, and maaaaybe Alaska.

If it gets thrown to the SC (which is still 4-4 btw) and then the House, it's gonna be a nightmare.

It was probably the quote of Starver's joke one that I saw. Looked and didn't see any others that got missed. Also checked several pages forward of that.

Dammit, I nixed New Mexico because it was too obvious. Plus, large Hispanic population and generally more left-wing than neighboring Arizona or Texas.

Figured Utah was more conservative and more white, but not crazy for Trump's style of wild amoralism. C'mon Mormons, don't let me down. Vote Johnson. Do it for Space Jesus.

@Strife: somewhere around the same odds as Michael Dukakis leading an armored column to death and glory.

I based the Wyoming prediction on historical data...strange that they don't seem to care this time, especially because Wyoming Republicans don't seem to be the particularly Trumpish types. I figure they're half libertarian wannabes and half so home-grown and paleoconservative that Trump's disgraceful attitude would be a turn off.
