Turn 8

Brooklyn of Clan Spyche and Medulla-3
Action: Back to the Bar where our information broker is no doubt waiting!
Aye, back to the bar

L璱e looks a little bewildered, but nods. 'Perhaps... perhaps I do need a drink,' she says with a weak smile. Medulla leads her out of the Observation Deck, trailed by her worthy partner. The two debate whether to introduce her to L璱e or not.

There's no trouble on the way. The three of them reach the Illuminated Lady in no time and Medulla and L璱e head straight on in. The bar welcomes them back in the same breathless tone, and the bewinged mandarmi remains behind the bar. The customers appear to have changed, though, with no sign of the helpful Remnant or the pilotess. The few patrons present are hooked up to stimulants or lost in their own Casters.

There's no-one who seems like they could be Radiance, but then, appearances are always deceiving. It's a matter of waiting, for now, unless there is something they wish to do in the meantime.

Karysse Sharid
Dogbite chews the inside of her cheek as she considers possible routes. First thing to do was obvious; use one of the monitoring stations to get into the facility's primary systems, or, failing that, map out power usage to identify likely camera and security locations.

Second thing to do was going to be somewhat trickier. Zahir's Caster was a piece of shit for basically any purpose. If she could set up a system so it was essentially one-way, that would probably help with security, but also drastically reduce communication. Of course, if she could get access to security cameras, that might be fixed, but...best bet was probably to try and disguise their communications as basic sales or data traffic. Hide in the noise, not the dark. Maybe it would even work. Regardless, they should probably keep chatter to a minimum.

*-"Oi'm checkin' fer maps, gimme a light on yer place and I c'n try to give you a lift with it."-*

Dogbite gets to work. She moves quickly over to the power monitoring stations and sees what she can do. [Data, Diff. 12: 3+5+1=9] Getting into the place's primary systems through here seems a bit too tricky to be worth the effort - it should be easier from an intended access point like the security room, though. Dogbite decides to just map power usage instead, [Data, Diff. 8: 16+5+1=22] which is child's play with the power stations here. Zahir's report confirms the server room as a server room, and it looks like the security room is directly above that. There are tiny power draws which are likely cameras watching every approach and a probable lock on the door, but Zahir could get there pretty quickly from where he is. Karysse herself would need to go a longer way and get through the staff area to get there. She could, however, probably get to the VIP area through the staff entrance - it's just up the stairs and down the corridor, without cameras in the way, though the VIP door does have a power draw suggestive of a lock.

Interestingly, the main floor of the Nexus draws a huge amount of power and connects to the servers. It's hard to say what exactly is being powered down there, but it's a lot of machines of some kind. Machines playing with machines. No surprise there.

[Data, Diff. 15: 19+5+1=25] Disguising their data traffic is no easy task, but Dogbite takes time to analyze the basic data and sales traffic in the Nexus' systems. From there, it's just a matter of altering their own transmissions to resemble them - they should be safe to communicate unless someone really starts looking, now.

She has control of the power system, so she could shut down, overload or disrupt any system she'd like. That'd undoubtedly send people running down here to see what's wrong, of course.
