How well can cards affect things that aren't part of a game? What if someone played March of the Machines? What if they subsequently played Master of Etherium and Mycosynth Lattice in one of the most interesting combos known to MtG?

Worth noting: many things don't have a converted mana cost. This combo turns them into 0/0 creatures and thus destroys them unless Master of Etherium saves them.

Yaieegh, what.
Mycosynth Lattice, among its other effects, turns everything into artifacts. March of the Machines turns all artifacts into creatures with power based on their mana cost. Master of Etherium gives all artifacts on its owner's side +1/+1, saving cards that don't cost mana (such as lands) from being destroyed for having 0 Toughness.

In effect, all permanents become creatures, and opponents lose all their lands if they don't have anything to save them.

Sounds fun, I would allow it. Probably
But what would it actually affect? Would only things from cards turn into artifact creatures, or would the effects spill over to the 'real' world?

I would rule that It only affects your side, so it also causes mass destruction to neutral RL objects, since they do not have an associated mana cost.

This sound fair? It basically turns the place into a smoking crater in addition to all of that, might be a bit TOO much Collateral, if you understand.

If it won't affect opponents, it's not really worth using. Just a hypothetical scenario, though, so no plans ruined.

No, I meant only your side specifically is affected by the +1+1 in that specific combo, so neutral stuff get's burned.

Alright then, we have a nuclear combo. How large would the...'blast radius' be?

Dual radius within LOS.

So your immediate surroundings, or building if you are in one, and some effects may resist it of course.
