What way are we taking this?

Is it meant to be serious, or are we making them jokes? Or a mix?

That said, we could easily make two lists. Would be a shame to waste all these excellent ideas so far.

If there are enough serious suggestions, the easter eggs can stay. I dont mind them. ;)

urist likes cats for their deaths from walking over tavern floors
No longer a thing. 'Twas bugfixed, and is forever gone.

urist likes dwarves for their similarity to himself
Keep in mind that humans, elves, and goblins all use the prefstrings, although the average player probably won't see that. So an female elf would like dwarves for their similarity to himself? (I'm not sure if [PRO_POS] is a thing for prefstrings, so avoid using him/his/he for references to oneself.)

is this right? Because I like small writing excercise type things, and could spam the hell out of this thread if it were actually happening.

Code: [Select]
elf
[PREFSTRING:devotion to nature]

Let's leave 'godlike' fighting for creatures that pose an actual sort of threat, shall we?

Not only animals, plants also have pref-strings. ;)

Yes, they do. But the vanilla strings can be a bit... lacking. here an example, all strings from plant_crops:

Code: [Select]
Line 43: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 88: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 133: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 178: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 223: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 268: [PREFSTRING:wine]
Line 316: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 356: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 388: [PREFSTRING:sprouts]
Line 439: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 488: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 539: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 586: [PREFSTRING:popped kernels]
Line 634: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 688: [PREFSTRING:beer]
Line 727: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 790: [PREFSTRING:striking color]
Line 849: [PREFSTRING:striking color]
Line 908: [PREFSTRING:striking color]
Line 946: [PREFSTRING:leaves]
Line 985: [PREFSTRING:leaf coloration]
Line 1036: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 1081: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 1126: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 1171: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 1216: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 1261: [PREFSTRING:grain]
Line 1320: [PREFSTRING:flowers]
Line 1360: [PREFSTRING:fibrous stems]
Line 1430: [PREFSTRING:leaves]
Line 1488: [PREFSTRING:flowers]
Line 1525: [PREFSTRING:useful stems]
Line 1583: [PREFSTRING:flowers]
Line 1626: [PREFSTRING:useful stems]

Single words. grain grain grain, beer beer beer. This could be much more interesting. I mean, do it like the gladiator: "he likes wheats for their slow movement in the wind and the feel of their fine fibers on the fingertips when running a hand through them, lost in thought."

I thought the "beer" ones were kind of funny.
