So apparently the current Average Best Bay12 Pizza would be:

Ham, Mozzarella, Bacon and Pineapple.

That's... I mean, I'm ordering pizza tomorrow evening, so I might as well try this mix.

You have pineapple on gammon (cured leg of pork), so on bacon and ham wouldn't be far off. And cheese goes with everything (especially more cheese!) so no problems there.

Oh my, a toppings thread!

Well uh. Continuing from the other thread, celery was a good choice. Not sure why, it just sort of drifted into my mouth without me really thinking about it. Also, didn't realize chicken actually had a decent following. Where I'm from, most people demand sausage/pepperoni over any other meats.

Those are probably still top of the list in most places (english speaking, at the absolute least), I think. There's definitely been an expansion in cultural norms regarding commonly appropriate toppings over the last decade or two, though, chicken among them.

Oddly enough, pizza's like the one thing I can stand ranch dressing on, and that specifically because I tried some chicken and ranch topped pizza (hungry howies) and it was pretty great. But yeah, sausage, pepperoni, bacon, canadian bacon, chicken, some fish, hamburger... think that most of the normative meat toppings. Don't seem to see turkey very often (mind, it works just fine; I put honey turkey on the pizza I eat on home pretty regularly), though.

Honorable mention: Pastirma/pastourma. It's a very nice topping if you like it's strong flavor.

It was invented by Swedes (well, likely by Turks running pizzerias in Sweden, but that's only relevant when it's bad ;) ) but it has since spread to all of the Nordic countries and at least to Germany, that I know of, so I assume it also exist in the rest of Europe by now.

While you're here you can also try another Swedish creation, the Pizza Salad (totally not Croat), shredded cabbage marinaded in oil and herbs. It's what we eat while waiting for the pizza here instead of bread sticks.
