I was thinking she had happened to mention Iron Town on the way and Elidyr was all like "Holy shit, I'm from there," and Lillian was all "Holy shit, me too".

Presumably the wagons aren't moving at anything greater than a jogging pace, anyway. Especially if there's enough snow on the ground that it would impede movement. Really, don't get after me for doing shit in-character.
