Devan snorts.

"I don't pay much heed to crazy child killing fanatics. We'd just end up right back where we are.

...

I'm gonna check on the pea-cocks... were you at least able to obtain bird feed?

I'm off to pet- errr, supervise the pea-cocks.

Devan checks the cargo hold, looking greedily upon the gold. He then goes and watches the peacocks for a few minutes, tossing them feed.

((Unless I am mistaken, quarter masters are ironically not in charge of quartering. They're in charge of supplies and provisions. Not sure if it's any different in this universe. Normally the first mate or captain decides these things.))

Head to my quarters, set up an elegant reading table and workbench, and review the "table of contents" of the journal.

That Bloody Cat chooses one of the peacocks, and begins stalking it... then MAKES HIS MOVE!

To the captain...
"Shall I take the first watch sir? On lookout sir? Up the mast sir? Please?"

Ignore the rowdier members of the crew; assist the captain and perform my shiply duties.

((No, ATH did not get feed for the birds - no money for it, according to the turn.))

"Welp, this route looks just silly. Oh well, let's be on with it then."

Once everyone is aboard, set sail. Follow the route laid out by my navigator.

"onward to adventure! I sure hope we get there before the birds die of hard tack poisoning! Or the crew die of knife in the back poisoning! Ahahahahahahaha, a pirate's life for me! But not really. No, we are merchants, lawful and entrepreneurial!"

Belgrafian Sea

That Bloody Cat chooses one of the peacocks, and begins stalking it... then MAKES HIS MOVE!
That Bloody cat picks out an especially fat one, crouches, and springs.

Combat: 6

What can barely be described as a fraction of a second later, the peacock lies on the rigging, the head neatly separated from the neck. That Bloody Cat crouches next to it.

You still got it.

Lovely, valuable metal. Lovely, valuable birds. You chuck rotten apples and crumbs of hardtack to them.

...You could have sworn there was one more of them a second ago. Hard to tell with so many birds, though.

Go to my quarters the best one besides the captain and first mates make devans room unlivable and assign rooms to everyone else.
You make sure everyone knows whose quarters are whose, before going into Devan's room and upending the bag of candy. It takes a while, but once you're knees deep in lollipops, you stop. Probably don't want to sink the ship with you on it.

Head to my quarters, set up an elegant reading table and workbench, and review the "table of contents" of the journal.
You settle in, and open up that weird schematics journal you found. Seems to involve a lot of highly octane and unusual physics, cracking stuff... table of contents, table of contents... here we are. Even the first chapters are pretty damn odd, apparently dealing with very small particles for the most part.

1. Reservations as to Castes and Photoelects of the Atom
2. Varial Resentines
3. Recastigating in the Modern Era: Very Out Electricity
4. Religion For the Simple Photon
5. Is the Electric Field Wheel Known?
6. Consider Volume
7. Potential Divided Into Internal Resonances
8. Work Done in Matter
9. Simple Potential Difference e.g. Applications Suggesting Sharpness
10. Frential Resineutrinos

And so it continues for several pages...

With Jackson in the crow's nest and Arc at the wheel, you set off. The ship picks up speed, leaving Belgrafia far behind, and peeling away from the thin scattering of ships heading out. Following the coast loosely, after an hour or two you arrive at an enourmous rock formation: two mile-long ridges of stone jutting out thirty feet above the water, the space between them narrowing to a bottleneck just wide enough for the ship to pass, through which a huge volume of water gushes, waves moving at an incredible pace as they're forced towards the gap. The masts of wrecked ships stick up above the sea throughout the area, unmoving but menacing. It is these massive obstacles that lead to the funnel's other name... the Bagatelle Board of the Gods.

The directions say through here... you will get a lot of speed going this way...

This is a situation that may require seamanship, as well as the crew manning the deck

Run up to the deck lolipop in mouth after securing all equipment and hiding it  and locking it throughly.
