The Lib Dems and Greens should be recruiting a lot of new members and possibly an MP or two from this.

Anyone who cares about this sort of thing wouldn't be caught dead voting for the Lib Dems after the shitshow that was the Conservative-Liberal government.  Maybe the Greens can benefit.

Ok, Horatio Alger.

Of the two immigrants I am thinking of, one is lazy as fuck and is now living the good life as an economist while the other is dumb as rocks and is now making a decent living as an office manager married to a vet.  It doesn't take a superhuman.

I do know a Horatio Alger kinda guy.  His application for asylum was turned down and he got deported back to the slum where his brother was just murdered.  Good guy.

I think the refugees would prefer bumfuck USA to Jordan.  And put them in bumfuck and pretty soon many will work their way up.
Ah, there used to be a Leftist poster like that here:

Anti-immigrant person: The boat is full!
Leftist person: Have you ever been to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern?

I will never stop telling people about how as a broke ass college student I was able to afford living in a three story victorian (plus a basement, split three ways) because I was living in Appalachia and didn't just settle for the closest rental to campus.  If I ever have great grandchildren I will personally bore each and every one of them with that story.

is there anything that is NOT fracturing and falling apart at the moment?

Actually, it's pretty common.

Can I just point out everyone missed this gem of a comment.

The Greens should be on high alert, given in the rest of Europe those having a similar profile to Corbyn supporters tend to vote dark red or green.

The big elephant in the room, though, is that while the unions stand behind Corbyn (thus largely preventing a NEC revolt), they might not be the most enthusiastic of actual left-wing posturing.

Again, FPTP ruins the game (and prevented the red to green or dark red shift that happened in some part of europe)

Enough of this commentating, let's get back to the dilemma at hand. The Brexiters have only given the EU more ammunition to further the cause of integration. But honestly, I'm so flummoxed by this event I'm having trouble communicating how I feel. To be frank, I'd rather just be sitting in a hammock eating hummus than discussing the UK's self immolation over their immense immigrant issues.

Oh god I read that as 'sitting in a hammock eating humans' at first. Brain why.

Saw a gem of a comment elsewhere from a Brit who said, "Why on Earth would you leave a policy decision to the British general public??! The last time you did that, you got Boaty McBoatface."

Given the amount of effort seemingly underway to ignore the result in the same manner, I move that we start referring to it as Brexit McBrexitface. And the counter-campaign as Project: Sir David Attenborough.

Seems a bit pointless to ask a question and then answer it yourself.

It's a rhetorical device used for making a point.

I was going to post the exact same post, but then I realised maniac probably meant that the reason is that they named it Boaty McBoatface.

Which is awesome.

I took it as "Cameron realized that the public would vote Bad Idea on a lark." But somehow I doubt he secretly wanted Leave to win.
