The Premier League is in trouble now. Premier League rules would need to be changed, or UK teams face losing a lot of top players. With the current rules, non-EU players are required to have played a minimum percentage of matches for their own national team in interlands, to be eligable for a work permit. The minimum percentage depends on the country of origin's FIFA rating.
Taking my own country as an example, that would mean only 3 Dutch players in the Premier League would be allowed to keep their work visa. The other 22 Dutch players contracted by Premier League teams would no longer be allowed to work in the UK.

For another example, Manchester United stands to lose their favourite keeper, David de Gea, because he did not play enough interlands for Spain.

At least a week.
Come on. You can get a cow to a catapult faster than that now.

Kek, the sad thing is that some people are actually spouting this kind of thing on Twatter and similar. The pound is already recovering. It was lower in February than it is now, but hey, why get in the way of a good apocalypse fiction eh? Worked so well at getting us to Vote Remain after all.
It recovered slightly but it's still down 8% which is absolutely shocking for one day. The dead cat may have bounced but that doesn't mean it's alive

I don't. Football not my thing, I'll just watch the World Championship Snooker, thanks.

Yeah, but you need to take some time for proper taunting.

Frankly the great thing about this decision is that the results will be seen rather soon then later.

Also it has been one freeken day! Full economic collapse takes a bit more time then that. Even the stock market crashing took SOME time.

On the plus side, it seems anyone with stocks in salt is going to do VERY well.

Well no... Salt is flooding the market causing the price of salt to plummet to bottom prices making the stock basically valueless.

I wonder how will  the business of certifications end up. I was considering applying to a fellowship in the UK beforehand...

That is because the market has lost confidence in the currency. Basically you can think of this shift as speculation affecting the market.

Might be a boost to tourism though.

Yeah, I guess EU students that wanted to apply to the UK will get shafted.

The uni I attend has expressed a desire to negotiate some sort of arrangement to keep EU students able to attend without difficulty. It is a Scottish one though, so I daresay English unis will take a different tone because of the whole student fees thing.
