The goblin mindset

A new dwarf fort! Let's attack! Bring forty goblins, forty beak-dogs, and 20 trolls!

Darn, they got their asses kicked. OK, this time, let's try a frontal assault with 20 goblins, 10 trolls, and no beakdogs.

That didn't work either. New strategy: a frontal attack with twelve goblins and one troll! This time we'll take that damn fort!

Is this biome reanimating? I really don't want to know what happens when "absurd numbers of megabeasts" is combined with "reanimating biomes".

Well, I think it's more of "We're almost out of soldiers, but hopefully the dwarves are too... Lets send a few more guys and see how it goes. We can't stop attacking, after all."

Still better then my current fortress, where the goblins sent what may have been a group of wandering minstrels to besiege me...
A few unarmed (unless you count books) dwarves and humans, and 4 goblin escorts wielding silver weapons. One had a copper crossbow with no ammo.

I did get a nice haul of 1 short story, a few instruments, and 4 helms and breastplates.

I've seen screenshots of a mod that adds descriptors like that. Which one is it?

I've seen screenshots of a mod that adds descriptors like that. Which one is it?
It's called 'vanilla'. (As of 42.06 I think)

Added to 0.42.06, but only for creatures you don't know the name of. (So I think it only works in adventure mode? It doesn't happen in my fortresses, anyways.)

Yes.  It makes already ridiculous mechanics even more ridiculous.

Actually, creature occasionally issue thoughts in fortress mode as well. I believe I've had a wild gorlak who was pleased about improving dodge while evading death by FB in the cavern. It survived a surprisingly long time too. I've also seen thought about having to withdraw and death being all around from various non fortress sapients.

Sorry, how do I check those conversations in fortress mode? I can only get battle reports with sprinklings pf dialogue but no full fledged convos

In most recent fortress i've had several were beasts and semi-mega-beasts who suffered various bad thoughs about suffering major injuries as they were dispatched by my military.

On the Fifth Day of Axemas, my love saved the fort from...
Five sieging Werebeasts, four Giant Dingoes, three sneaky Thieves, two drunken Black bears, and a Titan killing spree!
