Another issue would be being exposed to now-extinct diseases that haven't been tried and tested against our genetics for many generations, depending on how far back you go.
Well, there's that, but people's immune systems are much better as a general standard now.

Mostly calorie intake. It helps a lot. If you were able to try to be hygienic, that might help.

You also might end up spreading diseases to them...

You'd also probably be quite intelligent compared to the typical layperson.

But I don't think I could become supreme ruler of the world without glasses, at least.

Get dropped into the Paris of the Revolution, find Napoleon, tell him about modern explosives, breechloading artillery, and Minié balls: The first will be the end of wooden war ships, the second will greatly improve his strength on the battlefield, and the third will allow entirely new infantry tactics while being relatively easy to implement even with existing muskets. Also mention antiseptics, primitive antibiotics, modern steelmaking, etc etc. Get your hands on a sizeable chunk of Western Germany as a reward. Egg him on into attacking Russia, give covert aid to the Russians, and when he's on the brink of defeat, cut his supply of advanced weaponry manufactured in your territories. Use the Rhine as a natural fortification to completely smash the retreating army. Treat the retreating soldiers well: Those who lay down their arms may return home, and those who wish to do so may join you: Napoleon you denounce as a tyrant, a maniac, a traitor to the revolution and all European peoples. From your newfound position of strength against basically everyone orchestrate the quasi-unification of Europe in a federal kind of structure that will of course be under your influence.

Now re-take the colonies in North America, conquer and divide China and make them abandon their character-based writing system for an alphabet, breaking it up as a cultural entity, organise the orderly colonisation of Africa while cracking down on Belgium-style atrocities and mistreatment, and pull off gunboat diplomacy with the Japanese fifty years early, integrating them with the before-mentioned federal system.

Remember you're always staying two steps ahead of everyone technologically. Also the Russians will be exhausted, their lands just having been burned by Napoleonic forces and scores of their fellow soldiers having been massacred by the advanced military echnology you introduced. It may superficially look like WWII with muskets, but it really isn't.

Also you could always try and convince French and German soldiers from areas not under your direct control to come fight for you against the new Russian menace.

Something mentioned some 15-50 pages ago re: Immortality.

Say the future contains a pill to make you stop aging and so begins eternity.

Would there be a market for a different pill to help you forget things.
Either to have a fresh start every couple hundred years, or to simply save memory space for important stuff.

Does immortality beget ennui, and do "reset pills" make for an automatic dystopia?

If you could target exactly what memory to wipe, there'd be a market for those now.
You know, erasing traumatic memories, forgetting past lovers, playing you favorite videogame for the first time again... :P

Specifically for immortality, I could see some people favoring it, but I'd try for a way to remember everything. H+ yes pls.

...conquer and divide China and make them abandon their character-based writing system for an alphabet...
That could be more difficult than you think.

I think we'd run up against physiological limitations soon enough.
So I'd guess you'd need a pill, or probably cybernetics, in order to deal with that.

Shave all your hair off and replace it with thumbdrives.
And remove all your organs to make space for 50 SSDs.
