This is a tale of epic proportions.
I plan to have this fortress in my emergency DM book. Given that it would be used to give people an impression of the game, in figured this would be an excellent example of the potential of dwarf fortress.

I just can't decide whether to mix the tale of Archcrystal with the tale of Cacame for the convince of the players. As the immortal elf king of the dwarves would be a fitting ruler for a fortress as ancient as this one. Main concern I have is the giant tower of Cacame over shadowing the glass tower to the dark mysterious pit.

Ha, well not on purpose. I might do something fun with burrows though. The duchess keeps wanting drums made and we can't make them anymore since updating to 43.05, and the king mandates all the frigging time for lots of stuff, so I just let them throw people in prison now. ImmortalRyukin, you can be the with the guards, and maybe I'll make factions vie for control.

You should edit holistic detective and Nemo into the next goblin siege as the leaders of the assault as their stats were at the end of head shoots.

Heh thanks, it's continueinng. Sometimes it's just a long wait before stuff starts to happen. Hit a milestone though yesterday. The fortress is now in its 341st year which means it's been 100 years since I started this thread, and over a year in real time. In that time over 6000 goblins have been killed along with around 700 elves and 500 demons. The glass tower now stretches 102 z levels with around 20 to go until it breaches the surface.

You, sir, deserve a place where in the hall of legends. I intend to make a generational fort as well, that I will be chronicling on the forums as well. Mine will allow volunteers to be dwarfed from the start and I intend it to be as long lived as yours. Only thing I may change is the triggers for sieges and such, maybe considerably lower to around 80 so I don't need 150 dwarves to be a mountain home.

Your fort is an inspiration, truly. May archcrystal live long.
