The year is 1863, and the Confederate States of America has won the Civil War. At the treaty of Quebec, the CSA would gain land from the Union (USA), such as parts of Maryland and parts of the Rio Grande River. Because of the massive loss, the Union has fractured, leaving behind 7 new nations. The CSA however, isn't doing so well ether. Because of the victory, some states from the CSA secede to form their own nations, only using the Civil War as a opportunity to become independent. With exhausted resources, the CSA can not do anything, leading to the creation 11 Commonwealths! Do your actions here, and send directives to me. OOC is here.

The Commonwealth of Virginia has decided to implement conscription. Every male between the ages of 18-26 will be required to enter the national draft list. If wartime is called, Random males will be selected for the defense of the nation. You will not be drafted if you are injured, unable to fight, being schooled or you are a conscientious objector. When not in war, some males will be called to serve in the Commonwealth of Virginia's brand new National Guard. With a current military size of 15,000, this is suspected to bolster military strength.

The New Eden of California welcomes its fellow Americans to this new chapter of American history.  With God on our side, we are sure to usher in a new golden age of prosperity!

To our neighbors in the Mexican Frontier, we would to inquire if there is any interest in normalizing relations through the establishment of embassies.

Atlanta's first president was Alfred Morris, the first freedman and Negro to be elected to the head of a nation in the western hemisphere outside of Haiti. During slavery, he learned how to read and write with the help of secret abolitionist sympathizers. General Diego Rodriguez was the leader of the coup that allowed the People's Republic of Atlanta to exist, however, he did not try and assume political power after the coup was over, as he recognized the importance of a democratic election. President Morris did select him to be his top military adviser.

Morris's first speech of president went as follows:

"To my fellow gentlemen and ladies of Atlanta, we are all people that have been oppressed by a terrible tyranny, one that had us break our backs as slaves or captives. Now we are all victorious people that have broken our chains to stand up and say that we are a free nation, not merely in our writing or our sentiments but in our actions! We are a nation of people  that are treated the same way regardless of the color of our skin or the place where we were born! We will show no fear in the face of oppression and hatred as we are a nation of veterans who have spent our whole lives fighting and refuse to step back into the shadows from where we came. We are Atlanta!"

With increasing competition among other states, the Commonwealth of Virginia has decided to implement more railroad infrastructure. With the Civil War devastating some of the infrastructure, the leaders of the Commonwealth have said that they can quickly repair the infrastructure. To help fund this, the leaders have decided to raise taxes among more wealthy people to fund this, and more projects. The Commonwealth of Virginia has also decided to declare war on the nation of North Carolina, on excuses that they have invaded Virginian border towns. The Commonwealth of Virginia will call on the Peoples Republic of Georgia, to see if they would like to fight North Carolina, and they could get land out of the agreement. The Commonwealth has decided to send troops to Raleigh first, and try and force a quick defeat.

The Atlanta Republic agrees and joins the war against North Carolina with the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Republic sends a sizable army through its northern border with North Carolina, supporting Virginia's war efforts by flanking N.C. from the West.

"North Carolina continues to uphold a slave state; by unifying with the respectable forces of the Commonwealth of Virginia, we will free our people from this abhorrent state."

With the recent declaration of war, a new insurgent group has risen up in Florida. They are called the "White Fists" And are supporters of a Republic of Florida, independent of the government in Atlanta. They are also against going to war with North Carolina. As their first choice of action, they have attacked a bar in Jacksonville, Florida. Who knows what they will do next?

*News Update*

After a few minor battles, the Virginia army of Northern Virginia has begun the siege of Raleigh, with heavy North Carolinian Losses. On the other hand, the Peoples Republic of Atlanta`s army has just finished the siege of Asheville, and is moving on east to meet the North Carolinian Army of Charlotte. That is all for know, and it is expected for a quick North Carolinian surrender.

Governor-General Miguel Enrique Martinez had a very simple mission: restore the north to Mexican control. Much to his surprise, that had come without much difficulty. Indeed, very few of the gringos had even settled down in the frontier and those that did lacked the capabilities to resist his forces. Of course, now that the immediate borders had been secured, the Mexican government was now concerned with other matters, leaving Miguel the task of governing this...backwater.

Diplomacy: The Frontier accepts the exchange of embassies with California on the condition that this leads to free trade between their borders.

The Atlanta government denounces the White Fists as a terrorist organization and possibly a remnant of the Confederacy. Police are updated and on high alert in Florida and spies are disguised as ordinary citizens in major cities in Florida, hoping to gain intelligence on the White Fists and infiltrate their ranks if possible. The government offers $15* to anyone who gives them information leading to the arrest of a White Fist member.

The Siege of Raleigh has finished, and North Carolina has surrendered the leaders of Virginia and Atlanta will start drafting the treaty, and accept the surrender of the North Carolinian Government.
