Quote from: 'Cricket' Pepperbox Carbine
A four barreled firearm, designed to have the barrels rotated on a ratchet to line up with the flintlock firing system. The construction makes it surprisingly heavy for its size,  reducing accuracy when the user is not in a braced position. (1 ore)

We could try to revise our rivers to form Waterways/canal system for resource if possible or make better uniform, upgrade our current ship or make a trading ship.

We should probably try to revise the cricket to fix the weight, because that inaccuracy could be deadly, and getting into a braced positiion takes time that our soldiers might not have

Nah m8, it's cavalry. Honestly not that big of a deal.

Instead, I propose that we revise the Samara to get better range. Longer barrel, bigger gunpowder charge, probably have to work on the rifling to keep it working. We'd have stuff like oils to use as lubricants right?

Why? It's not like we're behind anyone else and being outranged is the bigger problem right now.

I thought the big problem was the fact that they can reload/fire faster than us

Fort Alton also pushes towards Newton. Their new long guns were able to harass Atterton forces long before they could return fire and the infantry were able to resist a moderate amount of punishment due to their shields.
And the other problem was cavlary but we already got that.

Can we assume that the new cannon designs have been installed on what remains/will be built of our fleet?

Range should mitigate their weapons being faster-firing, as we'll be able to cause casualties before they can shoot at us, and so take less fire.

And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the Assaulted Lanterns Magma Artillery' - King Id I of the Assaulted Lanterns
