Lidia does get knocked over, but without the shadow around her feet she can get herself into a decent enough position, knees up to keep him from totally sandwiching her to the ground. An arm catches the bat (drawing a pained "ngh!"), and though it's visible to all that she can't hold it forever, a grin stretches across her face. "H-heh... I have an unfair advantage Ray!"
And then Lidia revealed that Ray's shadow wasn't the only power she'd copied. The power Yuri had used during his fight with Aine sprung from her hands, and three figures appeared on the battlefield. One between her and Ray, taking the bat hits and trying to grab at him (giving Lidia the chance to roll away) and one in between him and her new position... and a third behind Ray. Three copies of comrades, far fewer and far more ethereal than Yuri's summons.
But the summoned facsimiles weren't AK-wielding Soviet soldiers, not at all. They were figures in what looked like a mix between a cloak and a jumpsuit, with a short hem coming from the hip area and thick collars and hoods above the shoulders, and all teenagers. The one grabbing at Ray was an unarmed sleepy looking fellow, the one in front of Ray was a furious looking fellow with a blade grafted to one arm, whereas the one behind Ray was... A little bit more thinly dressed than the other two, holding a wicked-looking dagger and wearing a wicked smirk.
By the looks of it, though, the FORM the ability took surprised Lidia as much as it did Ray. She got up and looked at them, eyes widening as she gasped. "O-oh shit. Oh shit. Those aren't Russians, ohhh shit." This could perhaps be what was needed to tip it back in Ray's favor: Lidia's utter shock.
