Guys...I just realized noir...can...techincally heal herself with dark magic..maybe...its in noirs sheet.
Notes:Holy or blessed weapons have a 50% chance of either healing or damaging her due to her evil blood and her holy blood the same is said about evil or cursed weapons.
So question can noir heal herself by hitting herself with darkmagic..even if its only a 50/50 shot?

I'd say that's about a 90% chance of killing yourself in a spectacular fashion.

In general, clerics are just as vulnerable to wounds distracting them as wizards.  They still have to channel the god's power correctly.  Even if not, I highly doubt that it's a good idea to zap yourself with a spell that has a 50/50 chance of either killing you, or improving what amounts to little more than cosmetic damage.

...Besides that, I was under the impression that Noir's healing magic is also divine in origin, rather than being an in-born sorcery.  If you're really desperate, keep spamming heals rather than committing statistically-likely suicide.

Well either destroying my soul or sending it on a one way trip to dad...we never did sort out which it did exactly whether it just destroyed the souls or brought them to her father.

I would in general also not call noir a cleric and I'd say...it was an inate power the holy power...so it cpuld be noir drawing upon divine power or just using holy magic within herself.

Regardless, you're already wounded. Hitting yourself with something that by default has a 50% chance of hurting you is *not* what you want to do.

Well yeah Its like a last resort.I'm juat hoping noir can try to sustain herself on her dads magic.also it'd probably flat out rek me if it fucked up because it attacks the soul the hitting myself with dark magic thing.

So I was re-reading old stuff from this thread, saw a comment about various character relative power levels, and got kinda curious. of all the characters, not only actual ones but also ones simply proposed or changed to balance them, which do people think is the strongest?

I think the potentially strongest character in the game was Reggie. with his completely unlimited shapeshifting. his flaws were in control and decision-making, and those flaws kept him from actualizing that power, but I think he potentially could have been the strongest character of all.

I think the actually strongest character though is probably Clunkers. because he doesn't have to care about just about anything, and can powerhouse through most any opposition. yet he doesn't limit himself to just being a powerhouse, using his power intelligently and effectively, without being afraid to just power through when the situation is appropriate.

but that's my opinion, what does others think?

Reggie defintly had potential I based him a lot off envy from fullmetal alchemist with his powers and general thing....he was meant to be scary powerful but he was also a pacifist and wasent very...knowledgable.

Though I would say strongest right now....I feel alylia just because she has power over people due to her leadership skills and personalty...she's the most powerful because people.listen.

Magic:His magic functions like that of a pact with a demon of slaughter as the pact master, the strength of which is based on the favor he has with the demon and is often focused around blood and gore. )

Description: A man of a thin and fit build with short, shaggy hair that he generaly keeps out of the way of his yellow eyes which have a wolf like look to them.

His clothing appears to be something that would be fitting of a merchant of a well off commoner if not for the blood stains and dried bits of gore that cover it. His clothing is specifcaly a simple red shirt under a soft leather coat and a trifold hat, and some plain pants. His clothing appears to have been patched up from several tears with bits of leather and hides.

He generaly has a twisted smile fitting that of a psychopath exposing teeth that seem normal for the most part, except  for his cainine teeth seem to be slightly longer and sharper than a normal human.

Background (writing out another long one  for fun) : A man born near the edge of civilized area, living amongst tribes that raided poorly defended towns and villages. He was taught by some of his tribesman of  the teachings of their demon of slaughter they reveared as a teacher of war and of how to use fear as a weapon as keen as a sword blade. He was also tought how to call upon the power and favor of the demon of slaughter in battle. He trained and learned how to use a sword in raids, practicing on those who fought back. He grew to be pridefull and arrogant in his skill and tried to out the leader of his tribe and claim the position as his own, he failed and for the arrogance and stupidity of his attack he was kicked out from the tribe. He found the transition to civilized society hard and got into quite a few fights. He made a few friends that tried to teach him to be more "Civilized" and keep him out of trouble. Their teachings help, in part, but still he often turned to his old habits. One of these he did not abandone was the worship and following of the demon if slaughter. He would often offer up cups of blood or the skulls of things he'd hunt and kill. He found himself an easy source of offerings helping to protect the town from tribes like the one he used to be in that would raid it. Durring one of these raids though he was blinded in his left eye and the sight in his right eye was damaged. Desperate to get his sight back he worked outside town in an old mine to create a "blood fountain" which was a rough hewn bowl in some rock as a shrine to his god. He was given the task to gather eyes of those he killed and bring them to the fountain in return he would be granted his sight. It was at that point his already often brutal tactics and strange habits grew quite bloody, with him fighting and killing people in as painfull a way as possible to gain the favor ofthe demon. He even made a simple obsidian knife to carve the eyes out of those he could capture while they were still alive. Eventualy he was granted a pair of wolf like eyes as the mine he claimed fr his shrine grew to be a bloody mess of corpses and gore that smelled of deatha and decay. With this those in the village grew to distrust him and try to drag him out, he soon found himself hated with even one of his friends yelling at him and growing angry at him. His arguments with this friend grew into intensity till, one day, it ended in them fighting where he took his dagger and used in to carve out the eyes of his once friend before snapping the obsidian in her eye sockets. He tried to flee as people gathered to the screams of his victim but was chased down and detained being sent off to the omega legion. It was for this act of open violence and betrayal against a friend that he found his canines growing larger and sharper in his mouth

Not quite sure how it would be best to handle the pact magic with ozy. My ideal was to have it and its strength and capabilities based on how the character acts.

((As far as potential, I'd rank Noir higher than Reggie.  While Reggie had unlimited shapeshifting capacity, that was his (its?) only strength.  Noir, on the other hand, has a very efficient and reliable ranged magic attack, along with strong charm magic for anything she doesn't need to murder (or whatever's resistant to unholy), and finally healing magic which is extremely valuable in OL.  Furthermore, she has the stats/skills to use her abilities, with +2 in everything core, unlike Reggie who had a -2 in his primary stat.  Her stats (as opposed to skills) aren't ideal, and could certainly be improved, but they're still fairly strong without any massive weaknesses; intelligence and memory checks are some of the easiest to avoid or circumvent.

As far as actual strength, yeah, definitely Clunkers.  He's quite clever, no slouch in melee combat, with a versatile magical skillset that can be used for both farseeing and disabling.  Not to mention the fact that he's a regenerating tank.  While there's definitely plenty of specialists that are a little better in some area, he's good in every area with no real weaknesses.))

Reggie identified as male though they did not have any gentalia unleas they shape shifted it.but reggie was also a amalgamte of souls thousands of them and as such is actually a lot of sexs but ultimately there were more male souls in his body so he identifys as male.

Also noir can close and ranged heal remember.
Also noirs dark magic is not reliable her father can take it any time he wants.
Also you can change it to has reggie isent dead he's just a fawn.

Yeah, the fact that all Noir's powers are ranged works significantly to her advantage because she can fly for a short period, thus allowing her to utterly dominate melee only foes.  I just wasn't being exhaustive.

Theoretically, sure, her magic could be taken at any time.  That's a weakness that applies to all clerics, and is rather insignificant--why would the magic be taken?  It's also far less of a penalty for her than a standard cleric, because she's the spawn of her god, and therefore she isn't bound by a code of ethics or anything which would justify having her powers removed.

Because her dark magic is not hers...it is given to her through a link her father willingly channels his magic into for her to use.Her father could take it any time he wishes.Also her holy magic works on feelings quite a bit so it is less effective if noir can't muster the emotion to truly care about the person their healing.
Also don't forget noir has piercing weapons skill and a tail with spikes on it.
