((rough weekend. I slept almost all day today. I was up a short while when i posted in the er redux thread earlier))
Reply:
"Aylia did inform you of that in her report?"
"She may have informed the officers she reported to. We'll see about equipping you with a lockable stun prod or something."
Take the copper. See about hauling furniture.
Edit: Mission preferences are 3, 4, 2, 1.
75 copper added. Looks like the furniture hauling is being put on hold, for some nefarious reason or another. Ah well.
Go find the potion master and see what I'll have to do to get mah magic boosted
He will give you a one shot magic potion in exchange for your spider fang. He will give you a potion that may permanently enhance your power in exchange for three of yor fingers, which will permanently cripple that hand., reducing your dex score. Side effects are likely.
My mission preferances go 3>1>2>4
Say the following to the alchemists. If they don't try to stop me,fetch the bucket go and fetch a bunch of those leeches. put some of the swamp water back in the bucket so the leeches don't dry out or anything.
"Suspicious statement: No, this one does not recall mentioning any leeches to you.
Inquisitive query: Why? Is there something this one should know? Or, more probable, something you want?"
"It's in the notes" One of the alchemists says, waving the sheaf of papers at you, and tilting his head, eyebrows scrunched up quizzically. The other wiggles her ears. With her hands. She just reaches up, placed her hands behind her long, broad ears, and flaps them forward and back a few times. "As for why, I believe the notes ... let's see ... ah here it is1 'Note: Leeches have a tendency to slither out of buckets and slide into places they should not be - pant legs, hair, even the urinary orifices of unsuspecting beings. Even mechanical beings are not immune, as leeches have been known to crawl into machinery and gunk up the works. this is usually fatal to the leech, but no one cares about that - they are leeches.'"
You grab your bucket and head out iwth some swamp water in it. You arrive at the mage's shop where you were told the leeches wold be, and he directs you to a large tank, with a glass front, no less, and a set of steps at the side for ease of access to the hatch. the tank is positively black with leeches. "Mind the rug on your way through, if you please."
"Thank you."
Leave this place, if permitted. Make a mental note to treat this guy as a necromancer.
What emotions are blocked by being a zombie, if any? After receiving an answer to this, say the above and then leave this place, if permitted and make a mental note to treat this guy as a necromancer.
My mission preferences are 2>3>1>4
All emotions tend to be dulled by zombieism, though free zombies have been known to regain some emotional range, if they manage to survive log enough. This is sometimes viewed as an unfavorable growth by the zombies, who occasionally search aggressively for ways to deaden any emotions. however, emotional growth seems tied to intellectual ability, in that it is both the sentient zombies that gain emotion, and the loss of emotion inevitably impairs the zombie's brain function. Ayway, you are allowed to go with a cheery greeting and a wave.
"Hey, if there's any sort of thing you need, anything at all, I'd be pretty glad to help. What stuff do you need stolen in particular? And who do you need murdered and/or informed? Let me know if something springs to mind, I kind of like this upward mobility thing you've got going here."
Keep at it! Also, how's the sweat collection? Is the rate appreciable? And moreover, is it quick?
You gather enough sweat to fill the vial. It's not hard. it's sweat.
"We'll be in touch, when you've been assigned a mission. Your enthusiam is pleasing. do take care of yourself. We look forward to hearing about your exploits."
Welp. Now you know what the white band is for. Also ... I think you have a visitor? One of your teammates stumbled upon your little incarceration.
...Who? I have no idea who you're referring to, because there's no way I'm reading all the way through these massive posts.
Like really.
You want me to wander back through, again? They bolded their action, with your name attached. They can talk to you themselves, I forget which it was.
A gong is sounded. "General assembly," is the meaning given you when you are asked. So everyone files into the large auditorium deep in the central part of Omega. it's somewhat dim in here and a bit crowded. there are balconies though, and perches for the short, as well as accomodations for the otherly bodied. Any stragglers are actually herded into the assembly as well.
Weapons are either confiscated or peacebound, and anyone with a known bite attack is muzzled.
A squad of officers stand on the stage and lead the crowd in the Omega Oath. not everyone participates, but the officers don't force that. one guy is soundly beaten for making a disturbance during the oath though. He is left in a pool of his own blood on the floor where he falls. After this, there is a short presentation on the rules of Omega: no rioting, respect your officers, try not to kill each other without good reason, don't crap in someone else' living area unless they request it. A short, comical skit is presented demonstrating each of these rules after the presentation. It goes over reasonably well, with those species that have a sense of humor. A woman in the audience sets a few of her neighbors on fire and is soundly beaten for it. Unlike the other fellow, she is carted out on a stretcher though. An officer announces that she will be taken to the infirmary "to prevent catastrophic explosion." He doesn't even bat an eye at the commotion. Following this, a few Omegas are recognized for service to the Queen, or otherwise are honored, including a few promotions in the ranks. Aylia and Fiddler are mentioned by name in the list of newly promoted corporals.
Finally, missions are announced, and Omegas are selected for them. More than half of the Omegas are pulled for one single mission "against Duke Artellan." In the end, there are five or six missions whose roster is not filled. For three of those, you guys are not eligible: either due to clearance issues, or species restrictions. the other three are as follows:
1) Scouting mission to the Eastern Reaches. This mission will start in Port Heron, where supplies will be gathered. You will act as an escort for a merchant train to the interior before being sent out into the surrounding area to check on a few disturbances which may be isolated incidents or may be connected. there are a few Omega Legion resources out there that need checked in on as well. This mission will cover a lot of territory, and you will be under the direction of three officers, though not always directly. one of the locations mentioned by name is a Durnvale.
2) Relic acquisition. This is a dangerous mission to a temple outside of the Kingdom. The Queen's reach is short here. Your goals are to loot, kill and destroy. There is a primary target, a relic left undescribed, without which you will not be able to return to Omega.
3) Raid on Belster's Bay. A region to the southeast has seen a rise in pirate activity of late. The southeast coast is lightly populated, and as such has little in the way of noble oversight, but is generally loyal to the Crown. The pirates have been disrupting fishing and what commerce there is down that way, and have been spending the money in other ports, far away. Recent intel has discovered that they have made a major supply run, and are in the process of returning to their hunting grounds with it. Their first major stopover will be a secluded hideaway in the aforementioned bay. We intend to steal what goods they have brought, and destroy their assets. We expect this to be a major blow to the morale and reach of the pirates.
Please select your first choice only for now, so I can see where the main interest is. If one of these gets fewer than four crew, I'll be dumping them off on the other two.
