I've no knowledge one way or the other with this random choice ._. I think it is made to work better if the player has even a slight idea towards one or the other, but I don't. I lack any idea x_x (if...you don't include etymology anyway. I'll take it with etymology :3)

I'll point out you don't need to be a worshipper of them - it's a way of adding some flavour to picking affinity.
