Alvin takes a minute to stem the flood of tears and takes her hand, rising to his feet.  He still felt awful, but he needed to try to be brave, if not for himself than for the others down here with him.  "…O-okay.  Thanks Sophia.  B-but I still don't trust her." He follows Sophia back inside.

"Are you okay now? Would you all like some dinner?"

She looked at Lazarus as he stared at her.
"Are you hungry?"

Lazarus stares just long enough for it to be a little creepy before nodding.

Alvin effected a smile, one he certainly didn't feel.  Now he just felt... numb.  "O-okay, sure Laykos.  I'm sorry about earlier.  It's just a lot to deal with.  I still— I'm sorry, but I still can't believe we're stuck here yet, and I don't really trust you.  Why is it so empty around here?  Is everywhere down here like this?"

Back in the house, Sophia dropped all pretense of bravery, and asked Laykos for a tour around the entire area.

Is there anywhere we can go to from here? I... I don't think I'd like to be stuck here in this house all day...

The thought is painful. She grimaces.

Sophia was trying to cook up a flimsy excuse. Fortunately, an idea popped out of her head.

"F-For familiarity purposes! Of course...! Ehehe... Wouldn't you want to tour us around, Miss Laykos?"

Alvin glanced at Sophia.  It seemed like she had a plan, he noted.  He began to speak with false enthusiasm.  "Yeah, a tour sounds great.  Let's do it!  But... where are all the other monsters?  You said there were a bunch that fought the humans, right?"

"Well, if you insist..."
Laykos walked outside, closing the door behind them.
"The other monsters are in other parts of the Underground; not here, though. Some other parts are really beautiful. Anyways, my children, where do you want to go first? We can see the pond, that's where I pick my moldberries!"

"Um, that sounds really exciting.  But maybe we could see some of those other parts first?"
