Won't the power roles claiming make them sitting ducks for the scums?

Yes.  The Shop Detective(Roo), Kind Soul(myself), and Wannabe Investigator(Unknown) will probably be nightkilled during the next 3 nights.  However, The Wannabe Investigator can use his ability today on one of the unconfirmed vanilla townies to get their alignment.  With less targets, he'll have a higher chance of hitting scum, and if not, he'll confirm another townie, reducing our number of valid targets.

If everyone claims (except the Mercenary) and The Wannabe Investigator cooperates, then the worst case scenario is that we'll have 5 unconfirmed vanilla townies (3 of which are scum) to pick from for shooting.  However, if we misfire twice in a row, then there will be 3 townies versus 3 scum and the scum will be able to tie the gun vote.  Then the gun will be given randomly and the scum will have a 50% chance of winning the game.  Even if we win that bet and shoot one of them, as long as they are able to NK, we'll have to do the same 50-50 gamble each following day until they are all dead.

And even if a town member dies, if the town as a whole wins, then they win.

The mercenary should def claim. I am going to singlehandedly win this game for town. And I'd rather not have to hunt them down and kill them.

I think to make it appealing to the mercenary, we should promise to kill him/her after 1 traitor has been found. That way, we will be guaranteed to win and the mercenary will also win.

As it is, it'd be more useful to take out the Shop Detective than the Wannabe Investigator, so claiming shouldn't hurt them too much. At least, not immediately. However, if they don't claim, they are in serious risk of being shot.

At this point in the game I think the wannabe investigator would be more likely to disrupt any framing or finger out one of the scum.

Honestly I think cinder is the scummiest simply because they aren't claiming when all the power roles are taken, also their reason for not claiming relied on them being a power role, which they aren't if everyone else is to be believed.
