So there is no topic and the tournament begins in a few days so here we go.

Each release of crawl comes with a two weeks long tournament and the 0.17 tournament is coming. Bay12 has been participating (with good success) in previous tournaments. The tournament plays online on any of the servers and score is kept individually and for teams.

A team may have a maximum of 6 players, new players are very welcomed.
The tournament begins soon but placement in teams can be made up to one week after the start.

We usually match people of similar skill using this criteria :
Expert: Win or multiple runes.
Advanced: A rune or close to one.
Intermediate: Reached the Lair
Beginner: Wants to join the Tournament

Evo, I don't expect to be any less busy over the next two weeks, and right now I am insanely busy, but as per usual, sign me up for a realistic-expectation-of-at-least-one-victory-if-I-can-find-the-time-damnit team, hopefully not the Champions, too much responsibility  .

As per tourney usual, I will endeavor to bring a Lajataur home with the Orb, then worry about more complex combos later.

Hmmm, just 6-10 more wins at my current rate and I might leave the ranks of awfulplayers

edit: What would you say is the best server to play on from Eastern Europe? Cuz head-shrivelling latency has been my main excuse for mucking up, and I'd like to not have it

I think the lag is more a result of high load than actual distance to the host. Personnaly I play on xtahua, the server is located in France and is usually less cluttered than the other eu servers.

I play console on CDO, and am located in Serbia, and its fine. Its not a very fashionable server these days apparently - does everyone apart from me play tiles?

Ya know, I didn't even think about that. Though it wouldn't be last tourney - we haven't used those team names for a very long time. You're probably right, though.

I've won twice, one of those wins 15-rune, so I THINK that qualifies me for Expert, based on the stuff at the top.

Mind you, I'll still litter the dungeons with numerous GGFE's of Vehumet and MIFI's of Ru, but I am optimistic about my chances.

I had a minotaur who cleared the lair, the orcish mines and died on the last level of spider lair, but nothing better. This qualifies me for Intermediate, I think. My name is wobbegong on the server. Any of you knows how to use that SSH key? I downloaded it but don't know how to use it in putty. I could connect to password servers, but the others are beyond me.

I've slipped you onto the Blacksmiths for now - we don't currently have enough people to fill out the all the teams, so I'm sticking you with a team of actual people. You'll do fine.

As for SSH keys, they're not really necessary if you can get in via password. It's all the same no matter if you use webtiles, SSH via password, or SSH via key.
