Mana questions:
How hard is it to recharge?
Roughly how strong is an average five MP fireball, cast by Cain as he is now?
Can we cast any cantrips for 0 MP? I'm thinking along the lines of me checking the depth of a small pool of water I have my hand in, or Cain lighting a torch he's holding.

"The dead don't need stuff anymore, because they're dead." - Milton Manatide

"Wow, worst run ever, unless he bled out on his way back. Race you to the corpse!"

Rifle through elf's pockets.
Crystal searches through the elf's pockets, and finds 27 gold pieces, an iron dagger (2d4), and a journal.

"I'm not seeing tracks of blood from further in. The elf's last fight was here."

Look around (and up), trying to see if whatever killed the elf is still here.
Looking around, the room seems completely empty.

"Boring.  Where's the monsters?  I was promised monsters."

Move further in.  Look for something to hit.
Nothing to hit in this room, unfortunately. Unless you want to hit the pillars, or the walls.

1. You recharge mana upon rest or sleep, or if you drink a potion.
2. Strength of a spell depends on the roll. Spell cost depends on its complexity, determined by I.
3. Yes.

Keep track of your inventory in your character sheet.

Examine the elf's wounds to determine what caused them.

Bump.

If that doesn't work, Crystal should skim the journal and the other two should check the door for traps and whether or not they can open it.

"Yes, a door!"

Start punching down the door.

"Score!" Crystal exclaimed, looking at the journal. The gold and weapon was nice too, but this was the real haul. Secrets!

Read journal. It's not rude if they're dead! Cultural differences, you see.

Take a deep breath over the elf's corpse. Absorb her residual life force. Take in deeply the scent of death; the air is laced with toxins and perfumes to delight the sense and wound the body. More than that, though...it whispers to us.

Listen to the memories of the wind; they shall tell me what wrought this elf's demise.

"God dammit Cain stop punching the resonator orb." - Milton Manatide

Examine the elf's wounds to determine what caused them.
Wilton moved forward and looked at the deceased elf; as he turns the elf's body, he sees several arrows protruding from his back; it was a ranged attack.

Start punching down the door.
Cain began punching the door, letting his fist bloody against the stone.
[9] He unleashes one final punch that opens the door, however his fist is now bleeding. 6 damage taken.

Read journal. It's not rude if they're dead! Cultural differences, you see.
Quote from: Elf's Journal
I have finally found the ruins of Doomarian; the first room seems large and empty, but I hear rattling of a skeleton's bones behind the door. I shall camp here for the night and wait for the skeletons to move so I can safely enter the first level.

Listen to the memories of the wind; they shall tell me what wrought this elf's demise.
[9-2] (Complex) She listens deeply to the wind, and the sweet sounds it carries; she can hear and smell, the sound of rattling bones deep within this floor of the dungeon and the scent of decaying flesh as well. The sound of plucking bow strings, the flight of arrows and blood; it is apparent that skeletal archers killed this elf.

"Please, Cain. Save yourself for something threatening."

Spend two mana to stop Cain's bleeding.
Edit: Follow Crystal afterwards.

"I'll never become a great fighter if I don't hit things, Wallace.  And besides, that damn door was looking at me funny.  Stupid doors think they're so great.  Well who's great now, door?"

Kick the door a bit for good measure.
Then follow Crystal after keeping a piece of the door as a battle trophy.

((Ah, sorry, I'm Wallace. I tried switching to teal because stock blue is hard to read on the Darkling theme. I'll try this instead.))

((Maroon alright for you?))

"Good news! The elf died because he was a coward.

Mixed news! There are skeletons nearby! They can smell fear and launch devastating ambushes against unsuspecting targets."

Down the hall and left.

I wonder if they were bright enough to open the door themselves, or if they had help."
