Ikarus looks at ASEAMAT. He points at it dramatically. "Who are you?"

"Copacabana. The Accord wanted some anomalous signal investigated, thought it might be the Chosen doing something inventive. Either way, you lot didn't light me up, so I'm assuming you're not in league with them." She actually sounds slightly... disappointed?

"W-Well, I-i'm no Tinkmaster, but I am a Precursor!"

He shows off all his goodies and tools and trinkets, and shows his transforming multitool, turning it into an umbrella, a giant sword, and a hat, before it returns to a simple egg shape.

He stared at the tool for a bit, scratching his head as he stared in wonder, "Wowie! Yer' a Pre-what?"

Ikarus looks at ASEAMAT. He points at it dramatically. "Who are you?"

There is a clicking noise, as of an ancient audiotape starting to roll.
Cave Johnson: Cave Johnson here.  If you're listening to this, you want to know more about the external testing program!  The eggheads want to put some of our stuff to use in the outside world, can't figure why, it's got no use in the shower curtain biz, so they've built whatever this thing is.
A rapping noise comes from the speakers.
It's got some sort of stupidly long name.  I fired the guy who made that decision.  I'm calling it Fred.  So the Fred project is basically everything the eggheads could stick in.
Or so Caroline tells me, I don't read their reports, they're boring.

Right Caroline?

Caroline: Yes, Mr. Johnson.

So that's Fred.  Now get this thing out of my office, it looks stupid.  And fire the guy who put it here!  I don't need random things cluttering up my office when I'm trying to record messages!  You!  Yes, you!  Get this thing out!  And then get yourself out!  You're fired!

No, I don't care that you don't work here, you're still fired!

He nonchalantly starts dusting off the soot and ash. Various parts of his body that were heavily damaged in the attack regenerate rapidly. "Hmph. And what was the purpose of that strange substance you fired at us? And the translucent cage?"

"To separate you from the other tester."

[Sl4cker]

He forcefully snaps an errant bone back into position. "Tester?"

[TheBiggerFish]

"Yes."

[Sl4cker]

Having regenerated fully, Ikarus stares at the robot in an intimidating fashion. "Explain yourself."

[TheBiggerFish]

Completely unfazed.

"What is there to explain?"

[Sl4cker]

"Why am I called tester?"

[TheBiggerFish]

"Because you are."

[Sl4cker]

"What does that word mean to you?"

[TheBiggerFish]

"'That word' means a backreference to a previously stated dictionary entry."

Ikarus stares for a moment, seemingly pondering.
If one were to look closely, they would see his head seemingly shifting in minute, yet vaguely unsettling ways.
"Define 'tester'."
